Leonardo DiCaprio and Martinn Scorsese will reunite with The Wolf of Wall Street
Leonardo DiCaprio will play Jordan Belfort, who pilfered millions of dollars from investors and was sentenced to 22 months in jail for securities fraud. His chop shop firm, Stratton Oakmont, also served as the inspiration for the 2000 movie Boiler Room.
The project, which is an adaptation of Jordan Belfort's book of the same name, was originally set up at Warner Bros. for Ridley Scott to direct. Now Martin Scorsese is directing the financial drama, which has secured independent financing and could start shooting as early as June.
Martin Scorsese will direct from an adapted script by Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter, which follows Belfort's exploits all the way up until he was banned from trading securities for life in 1994.
The Wolf of Wall Street is in development and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Kyle Chandler, Jean Dujardin, Margot Robbie, Jon Bernthal, Rob Reiner, Jon Favreau. The film is directed by Martin Scorsese.
