In a video at Shatnervision, Captain Kirk himself talks about finding out that Nemoy's Spock is in the new film, even though Shatner's character is not.
Shatner said he reached through the phone and choked Nimoy when he heard the news. When Bill was asked why his friend would consider doing the movie if both characters weren't in it, Shatner replied, "Because we're not that good of friends."

Star Trek opens December 25th, 2008.

I'd like to see them both in it!!!! It's a shame we've lost some the characters in life.. But life does that to us all!! .. The original characters and certainly the actors will always be the foundation of Star Trek! I do however, like all the other Star Trek shows!
