According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project is based on an original idea about a group of people who survive the end of the world and the mystery surrounding how they got to that position. The studio is seeking writers for the project.

Another end of the world movie...we've got 2012 & The Road now. I wonder if the prophetic Mayans knew that Hollywood would cash in on this latest craze & that Len Wiseman would be doing the bump and grind with Kate Beckinsale every night, after a hard day of apocalyptic doom?
