You know it's really funny there was a period of time, about a year ago, where I would have said "Oh, good luck" because it was mired in so many things. It was a co-production between Paramount and Dreamworks and there were studio politics and I actually think it's going to see the light of day. and I, he's the writer of... is very friendly with Mr. Snicket I should say, we stay in constant touch about it, because I would love nothing more than to do that and we've been hoping to, so I think there will be a chance it may take a wildly different form but I think it will probably happen.
There was no word from either studio involved as of yet, but we'll be sure to keep you posted on any and all updates regarding a Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events sequel.
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events was released December 17th, 2004 and stars Jim Carrey, Liam Aiken, Emily Browning, Kara Hoffman, Shelby Hoffman, Jude Law, Timothy Spall, Catherine O'Hara. The film is directed by Brad Silberling.

I've been hearing some rumors about a sequel to Lemony Snicket being done in stop-motion. Some of the fans are blowing up about it, but I don't really see why. I think it'd be great! Maybe I'm just saying that because I'm a huge Tim Burton fan, but I think it would fit the mood of the series pretty well. Take a look at Corpse Bride, for instance. If a sequel came out with the same kind of vibe, I think it'd be awesome!
...But that's just my thoughts.

They need to do the movie with the same actors, even though they are out of age. Their characters have become such a strong core to the movies already.

Good one, Vamp. They should make a TV mini series instead, one book per episode. There's enough of them for one season.

Hopefully they do.

I'd say redo it without combining the books, however much I liked the movie, the storyline was a little botched. I hope they do decide to do a sequel, though. It'd be fun. Took 'em long enough to come out with this one, though, huh? LMFAO!!!!!

It will need a series of fortunate events to make this film a hit now.

Yeah, should have been done a long time ago. I think the box office didn't exactly permit for sequels at the time.

i'd say they would have to find someone new to play sunny, as for everyone else, Jim Carrey, Liam Aiken, and Emily Browning, I still think they could play the roles

I agree, should have been done a while ago. The first one was really good.

They should've done a sequel while the first movie was still hot. Liam and Emily are both so grown up now. I don't know if it would work.
