@narrator, @insertusernamehere: That makes a lot of sense. I started playing Mass Effect 2 and I see your points clearly. By the way, it is f*cking awesome.

hmmm i agree with @narrator & @insertusernamehere Mass Effect is already a full blown cinematic experience and in comparison it is somewhat like a next-generation version to the epicness of the original star wars trilogy.

Paradise Lost will fall flat on its face,if what i'm hearing about it being a CGI animation possible in 3D, not even Hugo Weaving can save that project. If you've read the poem, you catch my drift... And to be honest and fair that needs a visionary director attached like Zack Synder for the scenes that involve the war between the heavens and hell etc

@narrator @zanyzap What Narrator is trying to say is that Mass Effect is already an interactive cinematic experience so it doesn't need a movie.

In other words, it better be the most ambitious f*cking sci-fi project since Star Wars or there's no point in making it.

  4. The Narrator: The Better Man

@zanyzap, as a clear headed fan, I can say that the story, universe, characters and tone from the games, if translated correctly to screen, would blow other summer experiences out of the f*cking water (to say the least). It could possibly do for pop-sci-fi or video games what TDK did for comic book films. There's just one thing - Mass Effect is so popular and terrific, not because of everything that I've just mentioned but because at its core, its a human tale about YOU. You make every decision throughout the games, from your appearance and back-story (which actually matters) to who to make love to, to when to change your outfits and why (something that hardly matters in Mass Effect 2). Whatever you say, choose to do, or don't... it will affect far more than you know, whether it's directly or indirectly (which usually means soemthing will come of that decision in the sequel).

All the structure, the amazing elements in the game, would fall flat to fans on screen when that decision mechanic is removed from the picture. It's not that I'm fully against it, because God knows I want to see the mythos of the series come to life. It's just that I don't see them succeeding in their attempt, or getting around that one big, mother of a gap that is the decision mechanic. Legendary's good, but not THAT good, and while I'm glad Project Director Casey Hudson is being involved, I doubt it'll really change any of the doubts that me and so many others share.

@insertusernamehere, I know you play the games as well. Back me up on this?

@narrator: I have not really played the game, so I cannot add much to discussion, but do you mean it can't work because it's an RPG. How are they going to decide his abilities or whatever? Is that what you're getting at? Because based on what I know, story and character, it'd make a helluva good movie. So... 'Splain.

@zanyzap It wasn't sarcasm, I'm sorry I got it confused with a zombie video game that is actually called 'Dead Island' and not 'Paradise Lost' which threw me off, becuz I believe the games tag-line is paradise lost or something along the lines of that. Now that you mentioned it was a famous poem, I'll be sure to read it sometime soon :)

God, Casey's even working on Mass Effect? Great news, but even THEN, how on Earth will this f*cking work? It can't! Gaahhh!!!!

@ghostman: I'm not sure if that was sarcasm or not, but Paradise Lost is a somewhat acclaimed poem by the somewhat acclaimed poet John Milton. I can understand how you could confuse it with a video game about zombies though; in fact, the game is probably more popular... :P

Pacific Rim and Mass Effect catch my attention.

As usual, no news on Godzilla. With Pacific Rim getting all the publicity I doubt Godzilla is being made anymore.
