Legendary Pictures Gearing for 300 Follow-Up

Legendary Pictures has confirmed rumors that it's developing a 300 follow-up for Warner Bros. with Frank Miller set for writing and Zack Snyder intended to direct.

According to Variety, Miller is writing the graphic novel the project will be based upon, although at this point it's not clear whether it will be a prequel or spinoff. Most of the characters, including Gerard Butler's King Leonidas, died in the original, making a follow-up tricky.

Snyder won't officially commit until after he sees Miller's take, but he's definitely interested, and the prospect of his involvement already has fanboys in a tizzy.

Another 300 has been rumored from the start, but last week Snyder and the original producing team stoked a frenzy online when they talked about it at the Saturn Awards.

The fact is accepted that they are creating a sequel Sir Ivy, I just don't believe it's a good idea. 'Tis my opinion, that's all. I think 300 was awesome too.

Well I'm looking forward to more of it. The original was too short for me. Like Peter Rallis said, the Spartans kicked alot of ass, I'm sure there's other battles they can make a movie out of!

You Visionary, I realize what ur talkin about when you said i was ranting for thirty pages about Dark Knight villains. All of you need to stop complaining 300 was awesome, you guys need to accept the fact they are possibly creating a sequel or a prequel. DAMN!!! GET OVER IT.

Well that's the problem with sequels B3njamin. They can f*ck up the spirit of the original. And with 300, the story was finished, but it was a box-office hit. So as for making a sequel to this, it'll probably detract from the original, but WB's are just smelling that cash.

I'm so tired of hearing people talk about 300 not keeping to history: If people do not know by now... 300 was NOT based off the History Channel, or any other history doc*mentary. 300 was based off the stories the Greek families have been passing down from generation to generation. Which shows in the story's exaggeration. Yes... to the out numbered, their enemy will look like monsters... But the point is 300 was NEVER stated as being a 'true story'. Please STOP saying it's not accurate to history. Educate yourself before you pass on false knowledge.

I undertsand what your saying B3njamin, but all im saying is that i didnt like 300. It was okay. I jus thought it left out too much. They could have stuck to the real story a little. A sequal is just a bad idea. But thats my opinon not urs.

Thank you Slim. Its good to see there are some mature members here who realize the forums are for interesting discussions about topics. Agree or disagree... but why start name-calling and insulting members for their opinions? Reminds me of the childish behavior I see at work everyday by students who are just flatout immature. They have no concept of rational discussion. They're right... and that's it. What a laugh.

people get confused with the truth thats the problem. 300 is a simple story that people are amused by. No need for an argument. but moviebuff123 does have a point.

First of all bonesaw, I'm not gonna get into the name-calling and all the insults many of the childish members here get into. I understood that the movie was primarily for entertainment, but shortly after the movie came out I actually had 15 year olds thinking this was how it all went down. I had to clarify by saying that although the movie IS enjoyable, it was not historically accurate. Now why you would insult me and say "no wonder why children drop out of school, they have teachers who dont listen" is just a simple minded comment. As for Clash of the Titans... the story is based on MYTHOLOGY. Its fiction. The story can change for entertainment... that's what they did 3000 years ago in Greece. They told stories about these heroes. How you can say this story is "the one of the most inaccurate movies of all time" is actually funny. Cause this story is just a story... it is taken from mythology. Did you think the movie Troy was accurate from the mythology? Not even close... but it was a good movie. Anyway... its ashame you have to stoop low as to insult me and other teachers just to make your point.

  28. bonesaw

Wow moviebuff123, i guess you just didnt get 300 at all. of coarse it is inaccurate. Its told from a soldier's perspective to highten the spartan's morale before battle. its a fictional telling of of the hot gates. maybe if you listened to the narrator throughout the movie you might of picked up on this. and you're a teacher. no wonder why children drop out of school, they have teachers who dont listen. plus, you liked Clash of The Titans because of the story. That is one of the most inaccurate movies of all time. 300 is more accurate than that piece of trash(i still love it even though its bad).

it wont be the same without Gerard Butler...what if they continued from 300 at the end with 10,000 spartans?
