Legendary Pictures is in talks to develop a film based on John Milton's famous 1667 poem, Paradise Lost.

Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose) is attached to direct and will help write the screenplay.

The biblical poem revolves around the fall of man and the classic battle of good vs. evil, telling along the way the story of Satan/Lucifer, the angel who tries to overthrow G-d, and the temptation of Adam and Eve and their expulsion from the Garden of Eden, adds The Hollywood Reporter.

A production schedule is being finalized for late this year; a 2007 release is set for Paradise Lost.
