Loved the original movie! Such a shame they have to film this installment in Louisiana instead of Texas! I wish they would have a cameo of Sally (Marilyn Burns) so we can see what her life became after 35 years.

I don't know. Tope Hooper's 'The Texas Chain Saw Massacre' is my favorite slasher movie of all time, and yes that does mean I do think its better then John Carpenter's 'Halloween'.

I seriously hope Del Toro's Don't be afraid of the Dark can make me jump. Not many can do that to me.

I was a much bigger fan of the remake. I wish they would pick up where it left off. And yes any movie with miss biel running around in a wet tank top is a movie ill see.

@dan1: Yeah, it looks cooler when looking at it in a forum. For some reason when cropped, despite focusing on the face it still didn't come across as well. Check the "face/off Issues" forum which I just posted in to see the effect. It's the same Yeti from the Matterhorn Bobsleds in Disneyland. I called it in its description: My dog, Fluffy.

OT: Does it happen to you guys that my Firefox is crashing each time I come on Movieweb.com?? It's like there's something loading that my computer doesn't support. It happens a while now. I always have to force quit and it's kind of annoying...

@slysnide Is that a yeti or something as your avatar? What happened to Mr. Ledger?

So in other words, this is NOT a direct sequel, and they intend to have the highly unlikely son of Leatherface or equally unlikely elder Leatherface killing stranded teens again. Pass.

Does every live action movie has to be in 3-D?

All of our horror icons have gotten their remakes. A few are getting there. I love me some bloody horror/thriller. Bring it! Without the 3D

oh hey Leatherface...where've you been? 'Making a reboot that's gonna be in 3D' oh, OK...u do that....
Anyways, if they do it right, being it's going to be in present modern times, lets hope they can pull it off....with maybe a few 3D chainsaw gimmicks comin' at you!

@ejk1@skywise Yep yep. And hey, any movie that can make ME jump, is a fun experience. As a horror movie, it greatly succeeded, critics be damned. They never like horror's anyways, even when they're good.

Or was it "Beyond The Valley of The Dolls?" Either way, I'm in the right.

@dan1 I don't often disagree with Ebert, but when I do, I tell myself, "He wrote the screenplay for 'Valley of the Dolls.'" Immediately, I feel that I am in the right.

@dan1 couldnt agree more. it was a very dark a violent movie and when i saw it people even left the theater, which i had not seen in a loooong time (because peoples are so desensitized these days) but what i'm saying is...its not a fun movie (per se). Its a brutal and even sad movie and when Beal was face down in the dirt trying to tell them what happend...well it was also a very tense movie.
so ya the tone was dead on for me.

Dan
@ejk1@skywise Roger Ebert may have hated it, but I thought the tone was dead on. When Leatherface opened that door all violently in the house and cranked up the chainsaw, all I could think was 'ah sh*t! It's on now, motherf*ckers!'. And then the ending with his face haunting you. Awesome.

@ejk1 any movie with jessica Beal running around in a sweaty white t shirt is ok in my book. Hell i wouldnt even need a horrifying, skin wearing, chainsaw wielding maniac to enjoy THAT movie.
