Lavish Mission: Impossible DVD Coming in April

Underscoring the rising synergy between theatrical and home video, Paramount Pictures Home Entertainment is preparing a lavish 10th anniversary DVD edition of Mission: Impossible to coincide with the theatrical debut of the long-awaited second sequel, Mission: Impossible 3.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the DVD hits stores April 11 and will include one free ticket to any movie theater to see the new M-I:3 (valid May 5-14), which opens May 5, nearly six years after the previous installment in the franchise.

Mission: Impossible 2, directed by John Woo, earned $215.4 million in U.S. theaters, even more than the Brian De Palma-helmed original, which grossed $181 million in 1996.

Mission: Impossible was released May 22nd, 1996 and stars Tom Cruise, Jon Voight, Emmanuelle Béart, Henry Czerny, Jean Reno, Ving Rhames, Kristin Scott Thomas, Vanessa Redgrave. The film is directed by Brian De Palma.
