Laurent Briet to Direct The Strangers 2

The Strangers sequel will begin shooting this fall, according to Variety.

Produced by Relativity's Ryan Kavanaugh, Roy Lee and Doug Davison from Vertigo, and Nathan Kahane from Mandate, The Strangers 2 will be directed by French helmer Laurent Briet.

Bryan Bertino, who wrote and directed the first film, wrote the sequel. The story is being kept under wraps.

The Strangers, starring Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman and shot for $9 million, grossed $80 million worldwide last year. That film centered on a couple terrorized by masked assailants at their remote summer house.

The Strangers 2 was released in 2009 and stars Liv Tyler. The film is directed by Laurent Briet.

    I thought it sucked. They could have easily escaped, but they were too stupid not to. They had a f*cking shotgun for petes sack. Seriously, they tried to say that was based on true events. That's horse sh*t.

    i've seen ils, aka them, and yes it was great but there werent as many parallels between the two movies as i expected.
    comparing those two is kind of like comparing frontiere(s) to texas chainsaw massacre.

    i liked the strangers too, for what it was.
    apparently this is the guy who directed the aphex twin video "nannou" which i believe is the one with the little music box, which is cool.

    Dont think this will work out since the first one was a bust! When the trailer came out for the first film I thought this could be the biggest horror/thriller movie made so far. But after watching I was highly disappointed and very pissed.

    WTF someone likes The strangers I thought it was one of the stupidest and most boring film i ever saw and if you ever seen Ils aka them you would of find it not that original either , truly one of the worst horror movie ever. wtf a sequel
