It seems that Lauren Velez is moving from the police station to the hospital. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Velez has signed on for an arc in the ABC hit series, Ugly Betty.

Velez, who currently stars on the Showtime drama Dexter as Lt. Maria Laguerta, will portray a nurse who becomes involved with the Suarez family. Details on her character weren't readily available, but there is talk that her character might be tied to a plot twist that involves the death of a major character.

It isn't clear how many episodes Velez is set to appear in, or when her episodes might be first seen.
