"It is the first class of Xavier's school, way back when, so it's young Scott, young Jean, young Beast and that'll be really fun," Donner said. "I think (the plan) is to follow some of the characters into their own stories, and weave them back into the X-Men world.
"And hopefully First Class will become its own franchise and we can follow them as they grow up."

Donner also confirmed that X-Men Origins: Magneto is still in development.

its not saying Bendis is a great writer, actualy quite the opposite as he's one of my favorate writers, Wolverine is the modern francise character, he's what Batman does for DC. i mean he stars/guest stars in half of marvels books a month.astonishing x-men, new avengers,x-force hes what sells.Althoguh Bendis writing doesent slow down sales either.

They are really milking X-Men. I think that the Origins spin-off could have sufficed just fine, without a "First Class" spin-off as well. Too many cookies in the oven and they'll all burn, Hollywood. The "X-Men Origins" franchise could be like "American Pie Presents" as that is a successful spin-off series. Although this will be WAY more huge. And they have the series set to blow with "Wolverine," "Magneto," talks of a "Wolverine 2" and "Deadpool" and "Gambit." So, c'mon, Hollywood, don't ruin a good thing by throwing too many X-films out there. Pretty soon people are going to be tired of X-Men and box office revenue will drop on future films. That is, unless of course, there are so many comic book fans in the world like me that it won't actually matter if they lose non-comic fans and revenue stays high. Hmm.

I agree with Vis, the New Avengers are awesome due to the writer.

Comrade, don't bash The Old Testament. Lol. And yeah, original five and a smallville tv style is the way to go. Only movie from x:men (in the works that is) sounding good is Magneto. I pray they don't f*ck that up.

With the popularity of Wolverine especially with the 'Origins' film, "First Class" may not even succeed for a sequel. It's sad because X-Men are pretty cool.
Hopefully that Schwartz can write a worthy script. I do have an odd feeling that people will be confused with a young Scott in "First Class" and "X-Men Origins". I'm not familiar with Tim Poc*ck who plays Scott in the Origins movie but he looks pretty good as Cyclops in the previews.
They should really include Storm somewhere because Halle Berry wasn't that great. She probably had the least amount of screen time. They made her seem pathetic.
I wish they had elaborated more on "The Last Stand" they left a lot of open doors. For one it's not proven that Scott is dead (although his goggles were floating), two Xavier is alive, three it's never mentioned if Pyro died. To end this rant, it's shown that Magneto had his powers, Rogue never got to fly, and Bobby became Iceman for 5 seconds.
Pretty much all I have to say until someone makes another accusation.

the reason Y the x men are so popular is because of Wolverine. Thats why the original x men series got cancelled. Y do u think he's on almost every Wizard cover? an guest stars in almost every marvel book? there wouldent be an x men without him. heck they even have a show out CALLED Wolverine and the x men.

Wolverine wasn't an original X-Man. If anything, the X-Men are why Wolverine is so popular
If they took Wolverine out of that book, New Avengers would still rock thanks to Brin Michael Bendis. It's not about the character, it's about the writer

so Wanted is now a franchise to be raped repeatedly for profit. The only downfall of making comics into movies, is that not all of them are gonna be about the story itself being told.

I want to see Eric Powell's bizarro run on superman turned into an animated movie! Fat Flash was one of the funniest things in comics today!

Lol Marcus, paranoid much? I was actually talking about Newkill, but thanks for calling me an *sshole. I'm more excited about The Goon than anything, it's become my favorite current comic. I love that old timey/punk rock feel, and the dialogue is hysterical. I was hoping for a live action film with Ron Perlman playing him, but the animation looks solid. David Fincher has that dark sense of humor that will fit perfectly, and Eric Powell being highly involved means it won't lose that "knife to the eye" attitude.

LOL usually arguments happen because stuff that is typed can be taken within reasonable content.
I read the first 4 issue of the 8 part limited series, and it was boring as hell so, i have no clue how this will become a success of a movie.
Like i stated to Matix, as a writer, i pride myself of reading/watching the source material before tackling the project if it is based on a previous source material.

Thank you God that someone saw my actual point here... J.A.Ottley,respect. If any of you ever read X-men:First class he would know that this movie would be a piece of sh*t! Someone clearly didn't read...I won't name who....(kof...kof...ComradeHenson...kof...kof) And Matrix...Who the f*ck is he now?...Clearly one of Comrade's minions who agrees with everything he writes...And I wasn't throwing any insults to anybody here...But I may start....*sshole.

I concur with you, Matix.
As i writer, i pride myself of reading/watching the source material before i tackle the project. I've been contemplating about creating an X-Men script which features Apocaylpse. But i don't want that campy design his given, ok yes its awesome for a comic, but not for a film. But i'm also staying true to his origins just remodernising it, but in a way not to piss off fans.
And i'm not amped about The Goon animated film, more intrigued, i'm very interested to see how David Fincher tackles this project and its should be good since he turn down writing an adaptation of the Graphic Novel, Torso, to make The Goon.
I'm glad that Fincher is venturing off to other genres, i'd like to see how he progresses in them and the reaction he receives. Becuase he many does Serial Killer Thrillers or is known for that specific said genre because of Se7en & Zodiac

I think that its his best work. I love his current Batman stuff, but its a bit too convoluted, he has soo many obscure references from old comics its hard to understand most of it. by the by, any excited about the upcoming Goon animated film?
