Laura Vandervoot has stated that Kara (also known as Supergirl) will be making a return for at least one episode in Season Eight of Smallville. According to a report by Comics Continuum Vandervoot spoke about her return to the series at the Fan Expo in Toronto.

"In October, I'm shooting," Vandervoort said during a panel with Michael Rosenbaum, who played Lex Luthor for the first seven seasons. "I only know of one (episode) right now. They've asked me to tie up my storyline."

Vandervoot also confirmed that there had been discussions of doing a Supergirl spin-off, but "it just didn't work out."

Smallville airs Thursday nights on the CW. The drama about the early days of Clark Kent stars Tom Welling, Erica Durance, Allison Mack, Aaron Ashmore, Justin Hartley, Cassidy Freeman and Sam Witwer. Season Eight of the show begins September 18, 2008.
