Lars Von Trier Goes Sci Fi with Planet Melancholia

It seems that director Lars von Trier is moving from one genre to the next. According to The Hollywood Reporter, director Lars von Trier will direct the sci-fi film Planet Melancholia.

Although shooting and post-production will take place in Europe, the film will be an English-language film. Not much was said on the story of the film, but von Trier offered only one, highly-ironic comment: "No more happy endings!"

It was said that the film is aiming for a release at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. Von Trier's latest film, the highly-controversial Antichrist, will hit theaters on October 23.
