Larry Charles to Return to Broadcast Television
Charles is writing and the NBC project. It "has received a production order for a presentation that will serve as a prototype of what the show would be."
The show takes place in a small town, and it is centered around a group of people who discover a unique way to exercise their creativity: they make episodes of their favorite show after they go off the air.
"Our show is a show about us, depicting contemporary American life through the prism of a do-it yourself homemade aesthetic that will mix mediums to produce a modern mosaic of triumphs glories and absurdities that we all experience and recognize," Charles stated.
Also, Charles is reworking a script for the Fox pilot Boldly Going Nowhere with the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia trio of Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton. They created Boldly Going Nowhere.
Fox ordered a new pilot for the sci-fi comedy, that is set on an intergalactic spaceship, earlier this year.
In addition to this, Charles is developing a "comedy project" for J.B. Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm). This will be a Sony TV-produced ensemble comedy that takes place at a moving company. It will be shopped to cable networks.

This is great. "Bruno" wasn't as good as "Borat," but Larry's years as a writer for "Seinfeld" in its first 5yrs make this all worth it.
