Lance Armstrong Biopic Moves Into High Gear
This film, from Columbia Pictures, could start shooting next year.
"We knew Gary well from is work on Seabiscuit and thought he'd be perfect for this," stated Marshall, who also produced Seabiscuit.
The Armstrong project will look at how he came back from cancer to take seven consecutive Tour de France titles. It is based on the book he wrote in 2000 with Sally Jenkins titled "It's Not About the Bike."
It will begin with his Texas upbringing, his diagnosis with cancer in 1996, "his relationship to first wife Kristin, the birth of their child and his remarkable comeback from illness that saw him first win the Tour de France in 1999." Armstrong then won six more titles and retired after he completed the 2005 Tour de France.
There is an off chance that Frank Marshall might direct this project.
It was Armstrong's recent comeback to try and win an eighth title that helped get this project into gear. "We got inspired by his comeback, and we were able to (get going again)," Marshall offered.
Matt Damon is currently being talked about as the man the play Armstrong in the film.

I reckon Matt Damon would give his left nut to play Armstrong, which might actually be a casting requirement.

Who the f*ck gives a sh*t about some bike riding bitch? This biopic has nothing interesting in it. The only biopic I would really be interested in seeing is the Richard Pryor biopic.
