Kristen Stewart returns for Snow White and the Huntsman 2, while director Rupert Sanders departs
We reported in June, just one week after Snow White and the Huntsman debuted, that Rupert Sanders, Kristen Stewart, and Chris Hemsworth were in talks to return. However, when the infidelity scandal broke, we reported in August that Kristen Stewart was fired, with Rupert Sanders returning to direct from a script by David Koepp. It seems the tables have turned once again, with Kristen Stewart now returning alongside Chris Hemsworth, and Rupert Sanders leaving to focus on saving his marriage. Here's what an insider had to say.
"The script has already been written and production will begin late next year. However, Rupert Sanders definitely won't be a part of the project. Rupert didn't want to be a part of it to begin with because he is desperately still trying to save his marriage. The search is still on for a new director."
The unnamed source also reveals that the actress is worried about her overall career, with no other projects lined up at this time.
"Kristen is extremely concerned about her acting career. Other than the Snow White sequel she isn't attached to any other projects. There are scripts coming in, but not as many good ones as she would like. It's distressing to Kristen that Rob (Pattinson) is attached to four separate movies over the next year-and-a-half. Even her Twilight co-stars, Taylor Lautner and Ashley Greene, are more in demand than ever, with both committed to two different movies each. Kristen just hopes that that the fallout over her relationship with Rupert doesn't hurt her career."
Snow White and the Huntsman 2 is in development and stars Kristen Stewart.

Sanders isn't the reason people are shelling out cash to see this movie; Stewart is. She's the most highly sought-after commodity in film today, like it or not. To say this was a wise decision would be the understatement of the year.

@bawnian-dexeus -- Ah, all right. I thought you were referring to Kristen Stewart as a goddess. You had me worried for a second, there.

I don't know why she has to be worried about getting worked. She was reported to be the highest paid actress a while ago so it should keep her stead for a good while unless she's one of those who blow's their money in a day. She can always produce, which now is better than being in front of the camera

The only news that's really worrying is the fact that Taylor Lautner is "more in demand than ever"...
GOD!! NOO!! PLEASE, anyone but him... ANYONE!

@emmyhasagun I had a feeling that it would turn out this way for the Snow White and the Huntsman sequel.

In my opinion, this makes more logical sense, to keep the lead actress and change the director, because a snow white sequel without snow white would be odd and changing actors for certain roles can be terrible and rarely work out. Besides a new director could possibly improve where Sanders failed. But that's all just my opinion.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx Studios want tio capitalize on her Twilight fan base. My best guess or she has an expensive/hard working agent or manager at her side

@bawnian-dexeus -- I think we had a discussion concerning the backlash, and it seems to be leaning in my favor. Scandal aside, how in the hell does she even manage to get roles in the first place?

Whether it's Stewart or Sanders that returns, it doesn't matter. The first was such a let down. I have no hopes for a sequel of any kind.
