Kristen Steward has joined the big screen adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's young adult novel Twilight. According to Variety, this romantic thriller is being produced by Summit Entertainment.

Catherine Hardwicke will direct the film. It was adapted for the screen by Melissa Rosenberg. The story follows the adventures of a seventeen-year-old girl that moves to a small town to live with her father. She soon finds herself drawn to a mysterious classmate, yet is repeatedly pushed away by him. Their budding romance is threatened when the classmate's archrival comes to town.

The film will begin principle photography in February of next year.
