Kristen Bell Goes Burlesque
The film is being directed by Steve Antin.
In the movie, a small-town girl (Aguilera) with a magnificent voice "finds love and success in a Los Angeles neo-burlesque club, reminiscent of the nightclub in Bob Fosse's Cabaret."
Bell will play the role of Nikki. She is sharp tongued lead dancer and the main attraction at the club. She can't handle it when Aguilera's character finds herself in the spotlight.
Cher is cast as the nightclub owner. Stanley Tucci will play he man who helps turn Aguilera's character into bombshell.
The film will start shooting November 9. Its release is planned for Thanksgiving 2010.
Burlesque was released November 24th, 2010 and stars Cher, Christina Aguilera, Stanley Tucci, Kristen Bell, Cam Gigandet, Alan Cumming, Eric Dane, Peter Gallagher. The film is directed by Steve Antin.

Sounds like another "Coyote Ugly" but hey, it's my dream-girl Aguilera's debut acting role, so of course, I'm gonna see it. You won't catch me in theaters watching this, though. And if it's a musical - count me out. All I know is, they don't call Christina "the voice of her generation" for nothing. Man, she's got a four-octave voice that literally is unmatchable since Mariah was in her prime (90's). And with Kristen Bell in the Supporting Actress gig, that's two stunningly beautiful ladies taking up screen time.

What drew me to this topic is Kristen Bell in burlesque/classy singing stripper role...Awesome! After she wore a bikini in Forgetting Sarah Marshal & this weekend's Couples Retreat, this should complete her skin baring trilogy, lol!
Other than that, this is a die hard "chick movie" using the tried and true struggling artist triumphs formula that works well. This is a rental...a buy if Kristin makes my eyes melt.
