Kirsten Dunst Set for Spider-Man 4 and 5

Kirsten Dunst
Kirsten Dunst has signed a deal to reprise her role as Mary Jane Watson in the back to back filming projects Spider-Man 4 and Spider-Man 5, joining director Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire who, as we reported, are already attached to the projects.
Dunst told MTV:
“I’m in,” said the actress matter of factly. However, when pressed to make the announcement official, Dunst quickly changed her tone, and rather cryptically added, “I’m not saying anything, I know there’s rumors…”
Spider-Man 4 is scheduled for an April 30, 2011 release.
Spider-man 4 is in development .

First of all, spiderman 3 was painful to watch, mostly because of the dance sequences but the plot was terrible too.
As for the Joker, I don't think the joker can win or loose. Sure, a couple things didn't go the way he expected them to, but he still got batman to break his one rule and with batman evil in the eyes of the city of Gotham, he managed to cause massive amounts of chaos and exposed people to the unexpected... and now he gets to sit back and enjoy the unraveling of Gotham in a way even he didn't foresee, which I for some reason picture him enjoying immensely.
When the Joker doesn't really have a plan, there's just nothing to ruin. Batman on the other hand, had a rule, and the Joker made him break it.

Nice rebuttal Fallen, point taken. Here's mine.
Wasn't Batman putting the blame on himself to defend Dent's reputation the defining moment of defeat or victory? If the Joker had "planned" for Batman to take the blame, then the Joker won. If not, then Joker's plan fell out. That's up for interpretation, and in either sense, brilliantly executed.
However, the latter would mark Batman with that bold label of "Hero". Taking the blame on himself and maintaining Dent's reputation is a heroic act, thus turning the Joker's "plan" on "itself".
Didn't Batman decide to take the blame on himself after he said "the Joker cannot win"? At that point I was like...suck...Joker freak'en showed them up for chumps. But when Batman was all "I killed those people"...I just went...nice...NICE! WAY TO GO! In your face Joker. People "will hate you for it, but that's the point of Batman. He can be the outcast. Make the choice that no one else will face". Nice foreshadowing there.
So, in my take, Joker lost. He wanted to SHOW Gotham that he could turn the best (Dent) into what he is and thus kill the hope of the people. THAT was the ultimate goal. Joker turned Dent, yes, but Gotham never knew about it. Goal failed. Instead, they blame Batman, "not the hero (Gotham) deserves, but the one it needs right now. A Dark Knight".
It is this complexity that makes TDK the best film of 2008. Anyone who still thinks that the Joker ULTIMATELY won in the end can eat cake.
Oh yeah, and don't mess up on Spidey 4-5!

The Narrator: The Better Man
Also Diagima, the Joker won in the end. He doesn't care about being arrested or whatnot. Alll he wanted, was his "plan" to work. And it did. He wanted them to see that even Dent could turn. Sure he was caught. Sure they made it look like Dent was good in the funeral. But he got Batman to take the blame, and got fear back in the hearts of the boldest. So he won, plain and simple.

knobie, it doesn't have to be a dark film. I don't want it to be. I just want it to be a bit more awakening, ya know. MJ dying doesn't mean its dark. And F.Y.I. just because things don't happen in the comics, doesn't mean they cant change em and do em in the film.

to johnnyblaze:you realy want angie everheart to star as mary jane at age 40? don't get me wrong, she still looks hot at her age,but m.j. must be as old as peter parker. angie everheart would've done it 15 years ago, maybe back when james cameron was intended to make the series?

Like CBF told me, "I wish they'd send her on a modeling trip or some such thing, and either finish up the Gwen Stacey story, or bring in Felicia Hardy." Don't get me wrong, I liked Kirsten Dunst's portrayal, and I'm glad that they were able to get her back, but the character itself is beginning to get a bit overused, you know?

i'm reading commentsabout how the apearance of both lizard and black cat would better the spider-man series. that's fine! but,why not add up electro, misterio, and vulture into the roster?

I don't recall defending MJ, slysnide. I'm not following your need to make such a comment.
And HOW did the Joker win? Last we saw him hanging upside down with a SWAT team pointing SMGs at his cranium. Yes, he won little battles, yes, he "pushed" Harvey to go on a killing spree, but he lost the war in the end. If Joker won, he would still be free, and chopping up mob bosses to feed to his little pooches.
I'm not asking for trilogy rules to be followed, just casting continuity. The only thing I hated about TDK was that they picked someone to play Rachel who looks NOTHING like the first Rachel. Dang it, Katie Holmes. I wanted to see you blow up instead!
Just so you know, I agree with you on Iron Man.

Frankly I like the actress & her role in Spider Man. They are really a romantic couple with lots of struggles between their love life.
It seems very natural and she's doing it great.
Maybe that's because of the weeds.
Anyway it's good to see her as MJ again.
