@thedude-abides Oh yeah. Well then he has 2 chances. Throwing Gosling in there is just icing.

@dan1 Two movies! They're starring in both Knight of Cups and the film formerly known as Lawless. And let's not forget Ryan Gosling, who is starring in the latter along with 'em!

@narrator You and your LOTR :P
All kidding aside, great list. And thank you for that shout out. I pride myself on having a knack for looking ahead to such things as it pertains to film, much like the films you mentioned for 2013, which are among my most anticipated for next year as well :)
*Just remember, 2014, Inherent Vice.

Hell yes, @thedude-abides.
All of those films that you've mentioned, which I will admit you first brought my attention to, are bound to be amazing. As for the best of the next-gen directors (those who debuted during these past 8 or so years), I will definitely say Refn, Johnson, Dominick, McQueen, and especially Cuaron are at the top of that very short and incredible list.
MY personal list for the rest of 2012?
1. The Hobbit (fanboying 'till the day I die)
2. Looper
3. The Master
4. Only God Forgives
5. Killing Them Softly
6. The Place Beyond the Pines
7. Skyfall
8. Lincoln
9. Django Unchained
...and my mind draws blank for the rest of the year. :P
Btw, @XxNickTheFilmCriticXx, @thedude-abides - here's a few films that I'm definitely looking forward to next year, and feel free to ad any that I might not be aware of:
Gravity (Alfonso Cuaron)
Twelve Years a Slave (Steve McQueen)
and of course Terrence Malick's two untitled films

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx It's Derek Cianfrance's (Blue Valentine) new movie starring Ryan Gosling, Eva Mendes, and Bradley Cooper. I'm hoping it gets a release date soon, hopefully September.

@narrator My thoughts exactly (on both comments).
@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx What @narrator said. This, Looper, and The Master were the three films I've been promoting on this site for over a year now (The Master and Looper for nearly 2), before MW was giving them any pub whatsoever, and now I think people see why. I believe I posted the release dates for all three when the site, for whatever reason, would not.
Plus, in response to your question, I think Andrew Dominick is in the same class as Rian Johnson and Winding Refn as far as being in that group of next great directors. To say the guy is legit might be the understatement of the year. I might even throw Steve McQueen and Tom Hooper in that group as well.
