The actor said the plan is to film "at the end of April, beginning of May."
He later added the movie will be...
"relatively a direct continuation. We're talking maybe six months from the end of [the last] episode."
Sutherland told TVLine the feature will cover a 24-hour crisis period, over the course of its two-hour running time.
24 is in development .

@comicbookfan I know, I know, I've seen it and I liked it but it had the same feel to it as the TV show. I want something fresh, like I said before. And you are hung on what I said about TV director things a little to much. I never said it would be bad just would prefer to see someone with a bit more style take on the directing role.

@messenger And, what? A TV director can't do that? Go back and see what Rob Bowman did for the first X-Files film. I'm telling you.

@comicbookfan @dan1 My issue with it is I don't want a 24 movie that feels like a 2 hour eposide, I want something fresh style that will keep the roots of 24 but gives us a look 24 that we aren't used to get us out of the comfort zone and less predictable. I want a Tony Scott type of director that will make a solid action flick but at the same time giving us a visual change and a solid story.

Maybe @dan1's right, let's ignore the Elektra example, but it's not really relevant. They guy has done 4 or 5 films now, so needless to say, going from directing TV to film works sometimes.

@messenger What @comicbookfan said, basically. It could be an easier transition than you may think. Lets just ignore the Elektra example lol.

@comicbookfan X-files was great but Elektra was down right horrible.

Been hearing this for a while now, at least a few years.
@messenger What about Chris Carter? He was a TV director who went on to do the 2nd X-Files film. And Rob Bowman too, for that matter, got his start directing TV eps of The X-Files then went on to make X-Files: Fight the Future and transitioned to other films like Elektra and more.

@dan1 You have TV directors and you have film directors. I'm not saying one can't do the other but I'd rather have some with some sort of style and Tony Scott has a very hard edge but sleak style. And you saying that Tony Scott wouldn't know the characters? I mean hell, wouldn't a 24 fan like me or I'm guessing, you understand the characters after watching 8 years of it? So why couldn't a solid director understand them? Especially if said director is a fan of the show? Which I'm guessing Mr. Scott is fan due to the fact he had show a lot of interest in directing the movie.

@messenger @pjwolsker Hopefully not. How about one of the guys who directed many of the episodes, like Jon Cassar. You know, the ones that understand the characters and have been there since Day 1?
