Actor Kiefer Sutherland appeared on the morning talk shows Good Morning America and Live with Regis and Kelly to discuss his new Broadway play The Winning Season. While there, he also confirmed that a 24 movie is actually happening.
Here is what Kiefer Sutherland had to say on Good Morning America.
"Yes. There is going to be a 24 Movie."
Here is what Kiefer Sutherland said on Live with Regis and Kelly.
"People come up to me and say they love the show. Its funny, because I don't feel like we finished. Its still such a presence in my life. There will (be a movie). We will hopefully start next January, and Tony Scott
is one of the directors who has expressed great interest in doing it. I think he would be fantastic. I am really excited to do that."
Click on the video players below to see what he had to say about the project. The 24 news occurs at the 5:30 mark in the first video, and right at the beginning of the second video.
Back in December we reported that 20th Century Fox passed on the script for the 24 movie, which was written by Billy Ray. We also reported last month that director Tony Scott is interested in reviving the project, and it seems he still might be involved, according to Kiefer Sutherland's comments today.
Kiefer Sutherland also revealed last month that the script is currently being developed, although it isn't clear who is on board as a screenwriter.
24 is in development and stars Kiefer Sutherland, Benjamin Bratt, William Devane, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Kim Raver, Erik Ritter, Yvonne Strahovski, Michael Wincott. The film is directed by Jon Cassar.
