Aaron Johnson and Chloe Moretz are finalizing deals for Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall
Christopher Mintz-Plasse is also close to finalizing his deal, and Nicolas Cage is in negotiations to return in a cameo role. None of the Kick-Ass cast members had sequel deals in place, which fueled speculation that some of the roles may be re-cast. There are still several other new roles yet to be filled.
Jeff Wadlow is directing from his own screenplay, which is adapted from Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.'s comic book series. Matthew Vaughn directed the original Kick-Ass in 2010, but isn't available to direct the sequel, since he is making the X-Men: First Class Sequel in January.
If all the deals are finalized, production will likely begin in August.
Kick-Ass 2 comes to theaters August 16th, 2013 and stars Chloe Moretz, Jim Carrey, Nicolas Cage, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Lyndsy Fonseca, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, John Leguizamo, Donald Faison. The film is directed by Jeff Wadlow.

Matthew Vaughn is discarding a project he should have been dedicated to-to direct a sequel to a movie that was inferior. Not only that, but we get a bad/mediocre director to fill his shoes. What a f*cking mess....

My bad @ejk1, and to anyone else I wasn't trying to spoil anything at all, but that was just news that had actually came out last week. Now a new update just in case anyone doesn't know yet Lyndsy Fonseca has confirmed on her website that she will be returning for Kick Ass2.

@ejk1 LoL, sorry. I didn't say who though. I'm not too sure who it is myself but I see what I said as a precaution more than a spoiler.

@ROFLitschristian Lol, yeah. Unfortunately I've seen movies where they didn't bring the leads back (Tokyo Drift), and what travesties they turned out to be.

@DarkShadow-13 if jeff wadlow is as bad a director as you are a writer, then we are all in trouble.

People shouldn't be so ahrd on Jeff Wadlow never back down and crywolf were just his starting point, most of the biggest directors of all time had starting points and that includes Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, but then they finally started making better films and became Megastars, who knows Kick Ass2 could be Wadlow's breakout hit, after all Matthew Vaughn did hand pick this guy because he claim he did such a great job writing the script for the film, I think we should trust Vaughn.

since Jeff Wadlow is directing kick ass sequel it might be alright or maybe i don't know this new directer doesn't make good movies at all and plus some of his movies are very low budget what i mean some of his movies are like 10 million dollars which isn't good because in order to get a very very good movie it have to reach somewhere in the hundreds millions dollars like for example the dark knight, the avangers, transformers 3 (even though micheal bay suck but he did alright the third one), and etc, they reached the hundreds millions dollars because those directer put expert to make a success movies but since Mathew Vaughn isn't returning and some of the original cast isn't returning for the sequel and plus they are recast (which mean the original cast from the first kick ass movie are getting replace) that is stupid, i'm very disappointing on this because Mathew Vaughn did so well the first kick ass movie and now we got Jeff Wadlow directing it OMG!!!!!!!!! he suck on directing movies, one of his movie was never back down that movie was bad and hollywood made a seguel of never back down that movie went straight to dvd and Jeff Wadlow wasn't involve in it, it was some idlotic directer that doesn't know how to make a plot dump ass's, i got a bad feeling about this, that this movie might not do so well or maybe it might come out good, let's just hope this sequel do well in the box office

@cheetoboy@ROFLitschristian Spoilers guys. Shame on you for ruining the heavy stuff for others.
@thesymbiote It was named "Balls To The Wall."
I have mixed feelings on this. I found most of Millar's sequel to be mediocre, with very little character growth and way too much emphasis on violence. However, Millar wonderfully altered the first story and made a fantastic film, so here is hoping that he can work the same magic again.

@ROFLitschristian, Mark Millar said himself last week that every controversial scene including the rape would be in the movie, I hope the rape in the comic wasn't graphic, that will depend on how it will be in the movie.

Who was raped? we kinda skimmed through the comic and we saw a certain someone in prison being hung until death, children being murdered with a machine gun and some dude being bit on the genitals. Who was raped?

Why wouldn't they bring them back? They're two of the brightest up and coming young actors in the business. Any movie would be lucky to have them.
