Kevin Feige Says Dr. Strange Will Likely Follow The Avengers

Brace yourselves, comic fans, because if all goes as planned, Dr. Strange will be one of the next films to come out of Marvel Studios. Marvel Studios President of Production, Kevin Feige, told MTV that Marvel's Sorcerer Supreme is high on his list for films to be adapted following the release of The Avengers.

"Very much so," Feige said. "I'd say in the next year, year and a half, as we start putting together our film slate for 2012 and 2013, I would not be shocked if we saw Dr. Strange on those lists. I love the idea of taping into the magical realm of the Marvel Universe, which is fairly significant and hasn't yet seen life on screen.

"It's something I'm very, very interested in," he emphasized.

Dr. Strange would make a potent addition to the Marvel Studios line-up, and he would introduce a whole level of cosmic adventures to the franchise. It will be interesting to see if Marvel has any cameo appearances from their other heroes appearing in Dr. Strange. The character of Dr. Strange has appeared in short bits in most of Marvel's animated series, but the only attempts to give him center-stage status outside of the comics has been in a fairly uninspiring TV pilot from 1978, and the recent direct-to-DVD animated Doctor Strange, where he was fairly radically changed from his comic book roots.

come to think of it... i was right the first time around!!! after dr.strange, there is nothing left to do in marvel superheroe movies but reboots and sequels and then their job is done.

i have been watching the old X-Men cartoons lately. and Cable is bad ass. would be cool to see him in some kind of spin off. that would also mean we could finally get Apocolypse on the big screen.

Dr. Stange has a really good backstory. They'd have to use Baron Mordo as the villain. It would be different than a Spider-man movie, but I think just as exciting.

knobie, he is far from the last character. plus if all their movies are doing really well. there is nothing stopping them making movies about the not so well characters. Marvel can go on forever!

Doesn't he have like a mistress named Clea, or something like that? What was his place called? The Sanctum Sanctorum? I think this'd be awesome. I'm not too familiar with the character of Doctor Strange, but I do know that he's one of my favorite characters to use in my "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance" game. Can't wait to hear more about this.

Dr. Strange The Sorcerer Supreme was pretty good for an animated movie. This is good news, I'll look forward to hearing more about if this movie gets the green light.

ShadowSC, I agree that top choice for the villain would be Dormammu or even Baron Mordo.
