Bacon will be a great addition whoever he plays. As for X3, it wasn't the best of the three for sure but I enjoyed it just the same. The first two were obviously better though but I think this one has the potential to be a real good film!

You forget that X3 was victim to studio drama. The reason they "killed off" Cyclops so early was because James Marsden quit the film shortly into shooting because he followed Singer to Superman Returns. With a hastily-assigned new director on an already-begun project it was bound to be something of a mess. I'm just glad G Del Toro left the Hobbit so far prior to shooting or that could have turned into a similar situation.

Kevin's been on TV for the past couple of years. What ever the role is I'm sure it'll be good.

Totally agrees with @ejk1 and @TheFallen. I'm hoping this is a fresh reboot. I love the director, have faith in him to handle this, and these casting picks are coming fast and furious, getting me pumped for this.

No no, @The Fallen is absolutely right about X3. How can anyone that likes the X-Men think that was a good movie? They kill Cyclops, Xavier, and then go all "no more mutants" on everyone. I'm sorry, that movie disrespected forty plus years of mythology, just so Wolverine can play hero once more.

    X2 was fantastic. Case closed.

X3 on the other hand was a slap in the face to fans. Killing off Cyclops in the first 10 minutes or so? Are you f*cking kidding me!?
Having lame dialog and cheap fight scenes? Not even mentioning Juggernaut is any way related to Professor X (their step brothers!). Not to mention meddling with characters both established and new to film (Angel anyone?). It wasn't all bad but it surely wasn't "good".

X3 is when the franchise started dipping and most fans agree with me. Especially if they loved the characters interpretations over the years in the comics.

@soylentgreen2 To answer your question Jam, I think it is desperate because I really don't think Kevin Bacon will play a good villian (not saying that he is a bad actor).

  16. The Narrator: The Better Man

@cryhawks, forget everything remotely about the Wolverine flick and X3. Fox took "continuity", as well as our beloved characters, and shoved them down the toilet. Personally I say f*ck the average viewers right now. If these guys give us a good well thought out movie, then I'll completely forget the last two movies ever happened, leaving First Class, X-Men, and X2 a perfectly nice trilogy. That or a reboot.

1 Question about this film if this is not a reboot but still in the same worlds as the 1st 3 movies & the Wolverine movie um well the women playing Emma Frost is exactly how much older then the kid playing Cyclopes but in the Wolverine movie they looked like they where the same age i mean she's like 30 he's probably 21

  23. Masta_Chiefed

I like what the production team is doing here. If Sinister is involved, they could use the Summers brothers' story, and work in a memory wipe on cyclops so the marvel movie universe wouldnt have to totally throw out X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

  24. Masta_Chiefed

K.Bacon would be an awesome choice for Sinister.

Ive always said that Vin Diesel needs to get the part of Apocalypse. He is a big guy, and his giant cranium wouldnt need much makeup or CGI.

  25. The Soylent Green Monkey

    @zgcorleone072. And I think you meant "they're".

I don't really understand how getting Kevin Bacon (a Golden Globe winning, trivia game inspiring BADASS) as the main villain shows desperation.

  26. ejk1

Bacon as Sinister would be decent, but I'm not overly crazy for it. I think Apocalypse needs too much CGI tobe done right, and would probably be better off used as a figure in the shadows for now, and then brought to the forefront in the final movie in the trilogy(again, I'm assuming there will be a trilogy).
