Kevin Bacon and Marcia Gay Harden are set to star in the drama, Rails and Ties for Warner Independent Pictures.

Alison Eastwood, Clint's daughter, is making her feature directorial debut on the film from Micky Levy. It tells the story of the physical, emotional and psychological collision of two families, notes The Hollywood Reporter; it's set in motion when a suicidal mother parks her car, with her 9-year old son inside, on a railroad crossing and awaits the arrival of a speeding train. Bacon will play the train engineer, while Harden will be his wife.

Rails and Ties starts production in early 2007 in Los Angeles.
