License to Wed director Ken Kwapis has just been hired by Walden Media to helm their latest project. According to Variety, the untitled comedy will be about a teen who becomes mayor of his town.

Surf's Up writer Joe Syracuse and his writing partner Lisa Addario are working on the script. It will revolve around a teenage slacker who decides to run for mayor and wins.

The film does not have a set start date.
