Keira Knightley Lands the Lead in My Fair Lady

It seems that Keira Knightley is the fair lady of choice for director Joe Wright. According to Daily Telegraph actress Keira Knightley will star the remake My Fair Lady.

Scarlett Johansson was also up for the lead role, but the site reported that Joe Wright has come on to direct, and it seems that Wright has gone with Knightley, who he directed in Pride & Prejudice, to star. Here's a quote from an unidentified source for the site.

"Joe and Keira are looking forward to working together again immensely," says a friend of the 37-year-old director.

Wright had been previously attached to direct the film Indian Summer, but left the project, which freed him up to direct this film.

My Fair Lady was released in 2009 and stars Carey Mulligan. The film is directed by John Madden.
