Katie Holmes to Star in Don't Be Afraid of the Dark
The film was written by Guillermo del Toro (The Hobbit) and Matthew Robbins.
Del Toro is going to produce the film with Mark Johnson. It will be directed by Troy Nixey in his feature film debut.
The film is a based on an ABC telepic from 1973. It follows a young girl who moves into her father's house and finds "devilish creatures" dwelling there.
Shooting will start this summer in Melbourne. The final film will be a "Guillermo del Toro Presentation."
Don't Be Afraid of the Dark was released August 26th, 2011 and stars Bruce Gleeson, Edwina Ritchard, Garry McDonald, Bailee Madison, Carolyn Shakespeare-Allen, Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce, Jack Thompson. The film is directed by Troy Nixey.

I'm not afraid of the dark, just afraid of Uwe Boll doing Alone in the Dark, for all the wrong reasons. Anyway, I've seen the trailer for this at the pics and wasn't that impressed, until I realised it's a del Toro film. Not seen a bad film by this guy yet, so I think I'll probably check it out after all.
