Katie Holmes in Talks to Join Mad Money

Katie Holmes is in talks to join Queen Latifah in Mad Money, a film to be directed by Thelma & Louise, screenwriter Callie Khouri. Latifah is also in talks and has not formally landed the role.

According to Variety, the script was written by Glenn Gers, based on the British film Hot Money, and concerns three female employees of the Federal Reserve who plot to steal money that is about to be destroyed. Khouri did a rewrite on the script

The third actress is not yet cast. ; The movie will shoot in Shreveport, La.

Holmes, who is making her return to acting after maternity leave, has dropped out of The Dark Knight, Warner Bros.' Christopher Nolan-directed sequel to Batman Begins.

Mad Money was released January 18th, 2008 and stars Diane Keaton, Ted Danson, Katie Holmes, Adam Rothenberg, Queen Latifah, Peyton Smith, Charlie Caldwell, Richard F Law. The film is directed by Callie Khouri.
