Lionsgate has just gotten ahold of Kate Hudson for their latest dark comedy offering. According to Variety, Goldie and Kurt's daughter will be starring opposite Dane Cook in Bachelor No. 2.

Howard Deutch, best know for directing Pretty in Pink, is behind the project. The script, written by Jordan B. Cahan, revolves around a date-for-hire who is so horrible, the women who go out with him rush back to their old boyfriends almost immediately. Hudson will play the love interest.

The film begins shooting this August in Boston.

My Best Friend's Girl was released September 19th, 2008 and stars Dane Cook, Kate Hudson, Alec Baldwin, Jason Biggs, Diora Baird, Lizzy Caplan, Riki Lindhome, Mini Anden. The film is directed by Howard Deutch.
