Kate Beckinsale has signed on to star in the horror/thriller, Vacancy for Screen Gems; she'll be replacing Sarah Jessica Parker.

Also joining the cast is Frank Whaley as the hotel's anti hero, notes The Hollywood Reporter. The flick will be directed by Nimrod Antal, and is written by Mark L. Smith; it will star Beckinsale and Luke Wilson as a couple who find videocams in their motel room, then realize they are being taped for a snuff film.

Vacancy is set to begin shooting later this month for a 2007 release.

Vacancy was released April 20th, 2007 and stars Kate Beckinsale, Luke Wilson, Frank Whaley, Ethan Embry, Scott G. Anderson, Mark Casella, David Doty, Norm Compton. The film is directed by Nimród Antal.
