Kate Beckinsale passes the torch
Len Wiseman (and Beckinsale hubby) is attached to direct the project, which stars Michael Sheen, and Bill Nighy.
Screenwriter John Hlavin says the movie will not be a prequel.
"It will satisfy old fans and excite new audiences, meaning that we don't want to redo the first three movies, so steps are being taken to honor what fans have loved but at the same time introduce fresh elements."
Underworld 4 will release in theaters on January 21, 2011.
Underworld Awakening was released January 20th, 2012 and stars Michael Sheen, Kate Beckinsale, Bill Nighy, Michael Ealy, India Eisley, Theo James. The film is directed by Måns Mårlind, Björn Stein.

I'm a little confused about the whole thing, but if Kate's back, Nighy's back, and Sheen's back, and it's an "Underworld" movie, I'll have to see it regardless. Can't wait for more!

Exciting news, I am a fan. The reason why I was not happy with the 'Rise of the Lycans' because I did not like watching Mitra... not that I don't like her but because I used of Kate 'princess' Beckinsale... Now in 3D with new 11-year old character this series would last longer of what I expect...
