Justin Long to Aid The Conspirator

In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Justin Long is joining the cast of The Conspirator. James McAvoy and Robin Wright Penn currently are set to star in this historical drama that Robert Redford is directing.

The film follows Confederate sympathizer Mary Surratt (Wright Penn). She was tried as a conspirator in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Colonel Frederick Aiken (McAvoy) was her lawyer who reluctantly agreed to defend her in front of a military tribunal.

Long will play a soldier who lost a limb in the Civil War. He is McAvoy's best friend and voice of reason.

Redford is also producing this film. It starts production in Georgia later this month.

The Conspirator was released April 15th, 2011 and stars Robin Wright, James McAvoy, Evan Rachel Wood, Alexis Bledel, Justin Long, Tom Wilkinson, Norman Reedus, Kevin Kline. The film is directed by Robert Redford.

    justin long might be out of his league here.
    sometimes his acting is adequate, but most of what ive seen from him wasn't very convincing... buuuut, maybe he'll step up to the plate.
