Justice League of America Costumes to Be Created by Weta Workshop

Stuff is reporting that Weta Workshops will be producing the costumes for the upcoming Warner Brothers film Justice League of America. They will be designing suits for Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and The Flash.

The film will be shot in Sydney, Australia later this year. Australian George Miller is in the director's seat for the project. Producer Barrie Osborne stated about Weta, "They are doing all the costumes and they're doing a brilliant job. A lot of people thought it would be too hard, that you can only make those things in Hollywood."

Osborne also went on to mention that Weta Digital might be involved in the film's visual effects. At this point, their involvement depends on Warner Brothers' commitment to the project. Barrie went on to say, "George Miller has a great take on the material, so it elevates it to something that's not a comic-book movie. At the heart of it is a love story, but with a lot of action. It is an exciting film and a different kind of film."

A release date has yet to be announced for the film, but it will most likely open in the summer of 2010.

    not a comic book story but a love story with alot of action...wow this sounds like a porno! This is going to blow (not to be associated with my previous comment) This sounds awful. When i opened this i saw Designer of The Lord of the Rings and thought this might actually be a good announcement for the Justice League for once. But it was of course awful. i hope this film doesnt destroy the charaters. please stop making this film!!!

    Yo i think this can only go to ways...it can either be really good...or really bad...i hope its really good cause the new dc generation movies like batman begings and superman returns have prover themselvves worth watching so i hoe they dont blow it all trying to make a lot of things fit in stupid ways...like aquaman...about weta sounds cool to me...

    I hope they do a good job on the suits and keep it true to the comics. With that said, I am actually one of the few people who is excited about this movie. As long as they take it seriously, it should be good.

    This movie is going to be a mess of ideas and characters!!!

    If Bale doesn't sign on he is smart, as for Routh he couldn't act his way out of a paperbag, so after the crappy "Superman Returns" I could careless if he shows up in another film again!

    i think the costumes and the actors being believeable as their characters is what is most important for this to work, the storys are always kind of....thrown together? in these team flicks for me it will be the excitement of seeing them all together for the first time. good shots of them using there powers would help me to get into this movie

    Wait........WHAT? lol love between whom exactly??? Batman and Wonder Woman? Green Lantern and Hawkgirl? To be honest I'm tired of love in superhero movies. Spider-man did that to me. The whole Mary Jane crap....egh it's overplayed. Hopefully it won't ruin the quality of the movie like Spider-man 3...

    I agree "cerealkiller Lp"..not to excited about this either! Only time can tell!
    However the "Weta Workshop" has a good rep, they came to worldwide prominence with director Peter Jackson's film trilogy "The Lord of the Rings", producing sets, costumes, armour, weapons, creatures and miniatures.

    So this is a plus that the Weta Workshops will be producing the costumes !!
