Actress Julia Stiles is going to write and direct the short film, Raving for Plum Pictures.

It's based on a story in Elle Magazine's October Personal Style issue, The Dress That Changed My Life. Variety notes Zooey Deschanel and Bill Irwin are starring; it explores the connection between a young woman and a lonely, disassociated older man after a chance encounter on a New York street corner.

Raving is the first of many Elle Magazine entertainment productions, including TV and online initiatives; there's no word on a production schedule.
