Juan Carlos Fresnadillo Enters Bioshock
Gore Verbinski will be producing from a script by John Logan.
Verbinski was going to direct the film but he opted to go another way when the studio decided to shoot overseas and take advantage of tax credits and favorable exchange rates. He is also directing Paramount's animated film Rango.
Bioshock takes place in an underwater city based on the free market principles of Ayn Rand, but things have gone disastrously wrong. Players control a pilot who crash-lands at a secret entrance to the city, called Rapture, and is drawn into a power struggle during which he discovers that his will is not as free as he'd thought.
Bioshock is in development and stars Wentworth Miller, Braden Lynch. The film is directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.

Yeah who IS Bilbo? And it better be someone in their 50's, like Bilbo is supposed to be in the hobbit.

Also since this is kind of a hot topic. Some new news for the people anticipating the Magneto Spin-off....its been halted.
According to David Goyer the main priorities to Fox atm are Wolverine 2, Deadpool & X-men First Class.
And for all you lovable LOTR fans...Apparently Ian Mckellen revealed at a special screening at Waterloo BFI in London that he will be returning as Gandalf and that Bilbo Baggins has officially been casted and that production begins in March 2010 :D
Enjoy the news

Most games don't really have in depth or really cool stories but BioShock actually does Slim. I played it because it got Game of the Year awards and so forth in many game magazines so I gave it a shot, and if you make it near the end, it pays off storywise. I was like 'wtf' out loud when I was playing it. If you like eerie, 1st person shooters, with some neat powers like freezing people, lighting them on fire, and throwing dead bodies at other crazy people shooting at you lol, and mini boss fights with Big Daddies who guard these little girls called Little Sisters. You can either kill them or save them, which is kinda cool and you feel good if you do actually save them (there's also an achievement for it on xbox 360). You can also upgrade your weapons at certain vending machines and hack them if you got no "money" lol. You are in the middle of nowhere, you are in buildings as if you were in a New York City-ish environment, but instead of streets outside it's the deep ocean so you see fish, whales etc. It's pretty cool. Way different than any other game in that regards. It's inhabitants are crazy people who want this "power" called Adam and they will kill for it. It's like crack for crackheads, but instead of messing you up it gives you abilities (that you unlock and earn etc). There's a lot of stuff to explain. It's also kinda exploration but yet you still are shown kind of where you should be going in case you get lost. It's worth it.

IF it was ME, I would have Shocker, and Lizard in the 4th, with Blackcat and a scorpion in the 5th. Followed by the epic Carnage film in 6.

And i dont think you can send scoops to worst previews
Email me or post on my page with your email and i'll send you David Lindsey Abatire treatment to the screenplay.
BTW i found it and sent it to my friend via msn and he summed it up on a FB status.

I suppose HobGoblin is better than Morbius, and always liked him better than Green Goblin so I guess I should be somewhat happy, but at the same time, really? We just had 3 movies with a f*cking goblin in it who does the same stuff, why throw in another one? Move on, get a different villian. That's like The Joker being in 3 films and then in the 4th a different version of The Joker lol.

Bioshock, if done correctly, has the potential to be an excellent movie. I still wish Verbinski was directing, though.
As for this so-called "Spidey Scoop," no offense J.A., but your "official announcement" can hardly be considered "official." I performed a simple search, and received no hits regarding this alleged synopsis. If its a "World Wide Exclusive," obviously "the whole world" (or at least those who associate themselves with movie news) would know, not just one person, or a friend of said-person.
I appreciate the incentive to provide fans with new, informative scoops. But without a source or a genuine confirmation, other than "my friend," it's hard to take your excitement seriously. I want to believe you, I trust your credibility, next time (or this time if you can) gives us a source.
And for the record, I'm not trying to be a dick, or say there's no truth in your statement. It just seems pointless (to me) to hash out news without doc*mentation.
Okay...
Once again, psyched for Bioshock! And I agree with you J.A. on John Logan.

It's a guy that turns into a giant man-lizard...you can't really get too epic about it. That's why you should wait to base your opinion on something other than these "facts" you always manage to find. The fight sequences between Spidey and Lizard will surely give you your epic treat, but you can't really base an opinion of visuals on a plot summary that a friend of yours wrote.
I don't know how you find the time to write all these screenplays your always talking about, because it seems as though you spend the majority of your time surfing the web for info that only you seem to be able to find. "WORLD WIDE EXCLUSIVE CONFIRMATION" my ass...so far, I've only seen a "J.A. Ottley confirmation." Try to take these scoops with more grains of salt is what I'm saying. I'm not doubting Lizard is in it, though, because that was pretty much confirmed the second Spidey 3 bombed.

When I first read this I was pissed that Gore wasn't going to direct since he is a good director, but then I finally registered in my brain that they guy who directed 28 weeks later is directing this. Which is excellent. I liked the film 28 weeks later, but more specifically I like the directing especially the style of directing. I believe he can actually make the film feel like it was in the game with that type of style he has.

Ok officially Spiderman 4 treatment sucks lizard dick.....
History repeats itself, here is a summary that my friend wrote on it...
Spider-man Four will be about Peter and Mary Jane finally breaking up. The Lizard is a menacing force that's terrorizing the city of New York. After about 3 or 4 fights, and Gwen and Peter getting together, the Lizard is defeated and cured by ...Spider-man. Roderick Kingsley soon comes in and discovers the green goblin equipment and ends with him hinting at becoming the Hobgoblin.

The games storyline is influenced by the principles of Ayn Rand, an actual person and author. Andrew Ryan's name is an anagram of Ayn Rand, with the letters "REW" added in. Do your research.
Newkill, you're obviously just saying that to tick people off seeing as how you specifically attacked the storyline, which has been regarded as a major achievement for storytelling in video games.
As for the actual news, I haven't seen 28 weeks later. I'll have to get around to watching it so I can judge this guy for myself. I wonder if the movie will be a prequel or direct adaptation or even something else.
