J.R.R. Tolkien's The Children of Hurin to Be Published
Christopher Tolkien has spent the past 30 years working on The Children of Hurin, an epic tale his father began in 1918 and later abandoned. Excerpts of The Children of Hurin, which includes the elves and dwarves of Tolkien's The Lord Of The Rings and other works, have been published before.
"It has seemed to me for a long time that there was a good case for presenting my father's long version of the legend of the `Children of Hurin' as an independent work, between its own covers," Christopher Tolkien said in a statement.
The new book will be published by Houghton Mifflin in the United States and HarperCollins in England.

@Slysnide: it's not that bizarre when you consider all the work he had to do with the collection and organization of his father's original notes (for this and other stories) and the fact that he edited and published 14 other titles before this. He's been a busy man.
@(instert): Yeah, they need to stick to movie news.

@TheFallen: I'm not giving him a hard time. I'm just pointing out how bizarre it is that it's taken this long. And on the flipside, none of us are trying to write a book, so we're not lazy since we've not yet chosen an endeavor to write on, in which case, we'd keep to it until publication.

3 decades working on a 320 page book when he had numerous notes from his father about the culture and concept? Jeez, either it's an encyclopedic rendering of the hurin children, or he's just really lazy. Afterall, he is 85, so he can't be betting on long life. {idk either, i'm just really bored}
