He's never directed anything as big as the Avengers. Granted, I haven't seen Serenity, but the Avengers is a lil' bigger than a few TV shows.

I'll say it again, writing a superhero comic and directing one of the biggest super hero movies of all time are way different, but if he's got a group of brilliant minds backing him, he could probably do it...that doesn't mean I don't want to see the rest of the list, though.

"Insert"... you know Joss has directed a movie before, right? ...as well as a number of TV shows?

His Astonishing X-Men was excellent. But writing a comic and directing a movie are two totally different things. However, if he has people like Jon Favreau producing/mentoring, he may be able to pull it off. I'd like to see the rest of the shortlist, though.

As this was posted on the 31st, it shouldn't legitimately be an April Fool's joke. And if not, I seriously hope it's true. If Favreau or Branagh are not going to direct it, I would sooner see it go to outside hands than to Leterrier or Johnston, who aren't very good. Whedon would be an awesome choice, especially if they have him writing on it too.

Could this be true or is this a cruel April Fools joke??? Well, the published date says March 31 while the obvious April Fools stories are dated April 1...

This would be a great way for him to rebound from the failure that was Dollhouse.
