Joseph Kosinski Eyes Oblivion

In a story from The Hollywood director Joseph Kosinski (Tron: Legacy) is developing Oblivion as a feature for Radical Pictures.

David Fincher is onboard this project as a producer.

Oblivion will also be a graphic novel that features 40 fully painted landscape images accompanied by prose.

The story follows a battle-damaged soldier who, when sent to a desolate planet, goes around the barren landscape in the hopes of destroying the final vestiges of an alien race. The soldier is joined by a mysterious visitor, and that's when this story takes a very existential turn.

Kosinski started working on Oblivion when he came to Los Angeles in 2005.

"I was looking to make a science fiction film that I could do on a budget," Kosinski states. "It's grown since then, but it's intended to be a very spare science fiction film, with a small cast but big ideas and big landscapes."

I thought it was the fantasy game at first. They need to have a heading over that.

Sounds like District 9 in regards that, few cast members, big space and cool effects. And Fincher is producing, so count me in.
