Joseph Gordon-Levitt in talks for The Dark Knight Rises again?
Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in talks to reunite with his Inception director Christopher Nolan for Warner Bros. Pictures' The Dark Knight Rises, reports Deadline.

"Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in talks to reunite with his Inception director Christopher Nolan in The Dark Knight Rises for Warner Bros. I'm not sure what role he'll play, but I'm told that he will be in the movie when Nolan starts production this spring."

The role that Joseph Gordon-Levitt would portray has not been specified, but previous rumors indicated that the actor may be up for the part of The Riddler.

Last week, it was confirmed that Anne Hathaway would play Selina Kyle (Catwoman) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Inception co-star Tom Hardy will play Bane. It was also rumored last week that Robin Williams may be playing the part of Dr. Strange in the film. The question is, how many villians do you think Christopher Nolan will pile into The Dark Knight Rises?

Production is scheduled for this spring.

The Dark Knight Rises comes to theaters July 20th, 2012 and stars Liam Neeson, Tom Hardy, Christian Bale, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Aidan Gillen, Marion Cotillard. The film is directed by Christopher Nolan.

@ejk1 & @dan1: Wikipedia says he's playing Alberto Falcone, or at least it's listed as the character he'll play in accordance with his filmography on JGL's wikipedia page.

@pjwolsker Not that it's necessarily the same thing, but they didn't give Joker an origin either. They completely skipped his entire past. But I do see where you're coming from. The Robin part of Nightwing is incredibly important to the character.

Plus, the possible Holiday angle would be interesting...if they ignore the prologue of The Long Halloween, which they could easily do.

  7. Dan

@ejk1 There would be a cool tension between Falcone and Kyle with that angle. Brother and (possible) sister fighting? Yeah.

Alberto Falcone. Why? Because that would be fun to watch.

Maybe he is the guy who takes over as Batman. Or maybe he's the new leader of the league of shadows?.

yeah but Robin was before Nightwing. that would never happen. Nolans not just going to skip all that. but i do agree. Nightwing would be awesome

I think an interesting way to incorporate Robin would to have it not be Robin at all, but Nigtwing! Think about it:

    1. It would prevent the film from being bombarded by too many villains
    2. It would give everyone their Dick Grayson fix
    3. Nolan DID say no Robin, but never specified on later alter-egos of the same character.

I think Nightwing would be an awesome way to go!

maybe Deadshot? im goin with random villains since Bane is the main one. you know, what if he's not going to be a villain? no one has said that yet. maybe he'll be a good guy

maybe a shadowy vision of the joker from inside his cell at Arkham? doubt it (beacuse of what Nolan has said in the past) and fans would probably be up in arms but that is the only way i can see him as the Joker.

  24. The Narrator: The Better Man

@bruce, I agree. While I'd still want a teenage Dick Greyson, I think JGL would have been a suitable fit for the character, to say the least. Thing is it won't happen. But it's cool to think of JGL being in a Batman beyond live action trilogy. Lol. Dream on my friend. :)

@Narrator Haha true, true. I'll just have to wait for the trailer. Guess sometimes when the rumors that come out fit in with your own vision for the movie, you end up forcing yourself to believe the rumors.

Man I wished it were true though, that Gordon Levitt would play Robin. Just imagine what Nolan would do to this character.

  27. The Narrator: The Better Man

@bruce, possibly. IMDB does get their sh*t wrong from time to time, and they tend to often times jump the gun. However, I' suggest you not believe anything until it comes from Nolan's or the Studios mouth, and even then, you might have doubts. Speculation is the driving force for this films profit, aside from it's legendary character, so we're always expecting weekly news on TDKR. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the speculation/theories. They're super fun. :)
