Christopher Nolan's highly anticipated sequel to The Dark Knight, which is currently called Batman 3, is not on the official agenda for this weekend's Comic-Con, however, First Showing is reporting that a studio casting grid has listed The Riddler as a character and that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is being eyed for the part.

They'd only have to hunt hard for a "leak", if the 'leak' stayed on one website..but leaks never do. Eventually they get copied & pasted & repeated etc etc, they get traced back and someone gets fired and wanders home, unemployed and blacklisted, trying to figure out how it all..went..so...wrong lol.

Notice how he never responds to that point as to why he leaks data here? Being nice only goes so far when your career's on the line. Yeah, big clue. However, filmmakers typically don't browse these types of sites, and Nolan would have to hunt hard for these comments as the ones in question are getting pushed back several pages...or will be within another week, as this story seems like the official "Batman3" chatblog.

I don't know about Monkeyiron sometimes, lol. As for Ottley, whether or not he's telling the truth, I find it interesting how he gives himself an out on everything he says, such as writing that the original treatments could be changed. And again, if he's the real deal, I hope he isn't putting his career in jeopardy.

What right do you have anyways to post information on a movie site about any projects, i honestly think you read alot of rumors and fill in the gaps and go from their, plus no one in their right mind who actually works in the business would risk being found out and risking everything they work for to get into the business shattered because they couldn't keep their big mouth shut just to make them feel big and look good to a bunch of strangers. seriously some of the things you have said here and their raise questions, i have to agree with @Ka-Pow! on this, no one would risk that, i know if i would in that type of work i wouldn't. only a moron would

anyone else read the original rumor that Mr. Reese was the Riddler in TDK, cause his name sounds like mysteries, (Mr. Reese = Mysteries) i just think it is funny.

and i got to say Ottley the more u defend urself and try to sound like u don't mind the more i don't believe u. u just keep name dropping. u sound educated and like u possibly read a sh*t ton of rumors, but if ur the guy writing the main treatment for the next Bond, and all ur doin is writing the treatment or w/e y would nolan give u plot details to the next Batman. plus how he Nolan and bros goin to do Bond when they r goin to be like in charge of all of WB's superhero movies basically. they r in charge of over seeing Superman and possibly the JLA, and they r still doin Batman. i'm not trying to be a dick but u just don't make sense. and someone else pointed out that there r so many members on here how do we know some of them rn't in the biz, i'd say cuz y would they leave comments on a message board about rumors, y would they even need to check, for ppl in the know then they either know wut is goin on or r working on others things, they don't need to find out who is doin wut with other movies. plus they would have legitimate connections within the movie biz and they wouldn't need to come here to find stuff out. so the only thing he would be doin is simply reading our stupid comments and best bets on wut is goin on or simply leaking information, and y the hell would he come here and leak information for free?

Mr. Reese(the man who tried exposing Batman's identity) would be someone to bring back if the Riddler was involved. The Riddler being obsessed with finding the true identity of the Batman, he'd probably go to Reese.

I'm wondering if either Rutger Hauer's character form BB or that Weasel who tried to expose Batman's identity in TDK will be connected to this movie.

Hmm, if that's the case, then I'd hope that Nolan doesn't make this some random guy that means nothing to the saga and just appears out of nowhere saying 'remember me?'

I hope #3 ends in an open ended way. After seeing "TDK," that same weekend, I thought that irregardless of who the next bad guy was going to be, that it should be Riddler cause that'd allow for such an ending involving an open ended riddle which could suggest either that Bruce is Batman, or Wayne Enterprizes supplies Batty's arsenal, and that the riddle would be left for Gordon to find. Something open ended and intriguing like that, which involved the tone set at the end of "TDK." It'd be like, Gordon would be left to decide what's best to do, for as Nolan said, he's making this a conclusion to the story, not a cliffhanger with an intended fourth installment.

Well when you've worked with the man directing the 3rd Batman installment, and also i got the oppourtunity to catch up with the unique visionary director 2 weeks ago at the Inception World Primere in Leicester Sq, and well managed to get some juicy details...As well as possibly working with him, since i'm the lead out of all the treatments that EON Productions have received regarding Bond 23.

The Nolan Brothers have portrayed interest, in taking up Bond after Batman

JA, not to sound like a douche, but where exactly do you get this information? You seem to know exactly what the storyline for Batman 3 will be. Don't get me wrong, it's a good story...totally sounds like the perfect way to bring in the Riddler. Just wondering how you know.

    @Slysnide
Craig will be in the next two Bond films, his contracted for 4 films...Despite that Nolan thought of having Dicprio in the role and thought it would be amazing to see him in the lead...
But Craig will return...and 2 of the stars coming into the Bond franchise star in Inception

On your concern with the 3rd Batman installment....David Goyer and Johnathan Nolan are both writing the story, weather Goyer decides to continue is up to him but it will be hard to make a comeback from the spectacular extravagant ending for the end of the trilogy...

Riddler's character is very much more complexed than the Joker, Joker was simplistic...Riddler is complex, he is determined to finding the truth behind the events of TDK,a dn why Batman disappears, he believes Batman is innocent...But then he becomes infatuated with the true identity of Batman...
Only to bear that he won't like what he finds because the man behind the mask, he shares a grudge with...a very personal one

@ejk1: I too would like to see Hush, having only found out about the character and how young of an invention to the Batman Universe he is just last month. But I just don't see it panning out, and Nolan seems to be tapping classic Batman here. Scarecrow worked for that, and is filtered into the comics, while Ra'as Al Ghul was a stand alone, and Harvey Dent wouldn't have worked as a continuing villain in the story, thus Nolan did the character the honor of having the first decent arc which actually made sense, as rather than having him become a bipolar criminal, he was a vigilante reinforcing Joker's theme, and thus can be killed off, whereas Joker proved his point by bringing down the mob permanently and taking out the judge and commissioner who made it all possible, and then punishing the citizens for attempting to sell out their hero for the whims of pleasing a terrorist (something of which you never do). All this points to the fact that Nolan's two films are truly in line with the origins of Batman and his rogues gallery. Joker having proved his point at how corrupt and broken Gotham is, is now self justified in being a petty crook like in many of the comics, like Scarecrow with his fear toxin after getting the classic origin story in "Begins." So after #3, I hope it still continues the origin like thing, such that if anyone after this trilogy is completed wants to know about these origins, they need only watch Nolan's trilogy to get the point. If Riddler is indeed the villain, then if he does discover the truth of the coverup, I'm sure that'd send him over the edge enough in how he'd see Batman corrupt, and thus be self justified in continuing to commit his own crimes. Thus, he'd be filtered into the comics. And Bruce's psyche evolves as well. Hence, this is a good strategy and overall theme that the Nolan brothers have set up, so hopefully the 'conclusion' as Nolan puts it to the third will continue this bit without totally ending the possibility of continuing the franchise, as in killing him off or hanging up the suit permanently.

@Slysnide, great point about it not following up on the end of TDK and Harvey's burden. Hush may be better suited for a fourth movie(if there is one), since I would want Catwoman to be involved because of the Heart of Hush story, and to set up the circ*mstances necessary, Selina Kyle would have to be introduced in Batman 3. Since there is no guarantee of that, it looks like my hopes of seeing Hush on the big-screen are dwindling.

After the success of The Dark Knight, Warner and his Bro will not touch the film's story, or alter the plot as presented by the studio's top pimp, Christopher Nolan. As for a future franchise, short of rebooting the series on completion -obviously, as noted with Raimi's Spider-Man franchise success is not a factor- they could follow Batman in his later years (say, for example, The Dark Knight Returns route), That way recasting is not a monumental issue and they won't have to replace Heath Ledger's Joker. Christopher Nolan could godfather the project from the sidelines.

I try to keep up to date with Batman but there is so much going on with him.
Regarding Robin would be interesting if it ever comes into film mode. I've never liked the character on the screen, comics and books of him I do enjoy. I think its the actors that portray the character.

When a second trilogy comes around, Dick needs to have as little screen time since the actor would have to be ten or twelve years old. Knowing very little about Bruce and what he does at night, so by the time the last of that trilogy comes around he would at least be fully trained and be the right fit for the Dark Knight.
While this is going on, the super-national aspect filters in, bring out Batman's other villains that falls under that area. Killer Croc just to mention one. Without Nolan on board this can be turned into another great trilogy if it was handled right.

@ejk1: Possibly. It just seems that therefore there'd be emptyness in the plot, seeing as all of a sudden, the story's not about Bruce having to struggle with the consequences of bearing Harvey's burden, but rather, a random, never before seen estranged friend from the past come to haunt him for revenge kind of thing. Being uninterested in the events of "TDK" would render Hush's vengeful motives a bit distracting to what most probably expect to be a continuation of the consequences of the 2nd film, which beckons a plot based around the threat of the truth being exposed. And seeing as Hush's quarrell is with Bruce, and not Batman, going back to his origins with the Batman persona could seem further distracting, as Hush would have no reason to be interested in Batman's doings, even if he did know Bruce was his true identity. He'd want to do something more personal.
