Jonah Nolan to direct Superman Reboot The Man of Steel?
The site is reporting that is the main reason why The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan was recently brought on to The Man of Steel reboot, to help out his brother in making his directorial debut. Jonah Nolan was a co-writer on Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Prestige, which were all directed by his brother Christopher.
It was also said that Christopher Nolan's involvement also has a big-picture tie-in as well. It was said that Nolan was serving in this "godfather" capacity with The Man of Steel to work towards an all-inclusive Justice League film that he would direct.

I never comment on boards. But what the hell,... Maybe it's the politics behind a Superman Returns Sequel~~~Who knows? I personally think there's enough left unsaid in Superman Returns for a Man of Steel Movie. Instead of having the audience return once again to a reboot version of Superman & the destruction of Krypton, I'm just going to point out a couple of things here. Please people feel free to chime in,... ok?
1- Lex Luthor fails once again to conquer LAND. Good idea to create it by using Kryptonite & Crystals and keeping Superman weak enough to stay away.
M.o.S (Man of Steel) - Try again to keep Superman away, but instead of Kryptonite land,... how about a bodyguard,.. .BIZARRO anyone. I'm talking sub-titles and all. Backwardz.
2- BIZARRO possible? In Superman Returns, what happened to the piece of BLOODY Kryptonite pulled from Supe's back at the hospital?
M.o.S. - Lex some way gets a hold of that piece, bingo-- Clone! Lex still has cash from the old lady's will. Maybe a facility for cloning at the newly built LEXCORP? Not only clone BIZARRO but, if Superman's flying around the world saving people from anything & everything,.... Lex Luthor will find a market to supply countries with,...... Kryptonite arms manufacturing. You know, since WAYNETECH passed on it.
3- Richard (Lois's man) out of the picture,... Yup, how could one compete with Supe's right?
M.o.S - Lois needs the true father for their son. Boy discovers power only a father of steel can tame. The lessons of Jonathan Kent are re-established. How to keep a secret,.... etc.
4- Superman Returns only touched on some Super-Action.
M.o.S. - Delivers impossible Action only a Superman Movie can. Northpole cracks in half, Supe's flies in & out of the ocean freezing pieces of it back together. The ongoing war in Afghanistan,... Supe's intervenes to tame out of control war situations. Earthquakes, children in danger, bad weather, let alone BIZARRO destroying Metropolis. Lex has to get a hold of more Kryptonite from the chunk of land Supe's threw into space.
5 - In this day in age,... the Daily Planet can do a follow up story. If not them,... a talk show to reacquaint the public/audience with Superman. Also to brew the hatred Lex has for him & point out to BIZARRO his enemy.
Also,... it's always fun to know things like,.. why does Superman's hair flow and still be able to form itself back to perfection?
M.o.S - Explain that Superman can WILL any part of his body. He gets a hair cut when he wants. He can allow a needle to enter his body. Is he ever hungry? What's his favorite food. The point is, get the audience to reconnect with this alien.
6 - Superman, is he the Man of Steel because of his invulnerability? Or because of his incredible capacity for good?
M.o.S.- Must have Superman/Clark Kent win BIZARRO over. Learns to speak like him,.... makes a deal with BIZARRO to return the crystals from the land mass in space.
7 - LEX will find out about BIZARRO's betrayal and destroy him for his new project: DOOMSDAY!
Enough said,... People. I'm just not happy about the REBOOT news. I know it's old news. And as for Nolan's bro,... hey, if he's got the tools and balls to continue telling stories one of the Greatest Heros of ALL time,.... well go for it. But,... we all know there are plenty of directors out there.

It would be promoted as "From the creators of The Dark Knight and Batman Begins", being there both Noaln's and Goyer. That way they cover all bases, and maybe even a "and the studio that brought you Green Lantern" or something.

hopefully this guys as good as his brother and better than bryan singer. his version of superman was decent but had the potential to be wayyyy better. plus a justice league movie would be pretty badass given that there's a good story.

Serinda Swan in a Wonder Woman outfit, yes the image is now in my head. So far Linda Carter is the only actress that has worn and has been Wonder Woman, I wouldn't mind seeing the character appear on Smallville.

I have to agree wit you on that CBF. @Insert, great call. She looks hot... and the part. But if only she was a bit older, like two or three years, but then again it could be that long till the film gets underway. Good call Vis. She just needs to be worthy acting wise.
We'll be able to judge her acting more based when Tron Legacy arrives.

@InsertUsernameHere Serinda Swan would be a great choice. She has the look of Wonder Woman, no doubt. If she could muscle up just a tad and give a great acting performance, she could nail the role. Of course, I don't mean a super buff chick like those freaks you see on female workout magazine covers, but just a tad to make it believable that she could throw some blows, and kick any strong dude's @$$. I know she has superhuman Amazonian strength, but still...just a tad LOL. Great casting call, Vis.

I agree with CBF too, they need to wait on the other stories being told before they even start talking about Justice League, I think it's just so they can kind of catch up with Marvel, but Marvel is doing it right so far, they've already got Iron Man and Hulk films made and now they've got Iron Man 2 getting ready to come out then Thor and then Capt. America, so they've prepared well, DC is starting to catch up, we've already got Batman ready now Superman is starting to move forward as well as The Green Lantern, now they've got Flash, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman. We've already heard talk about Flash so that's gives me the idea that we'll be hearing some stuff about Wonder Woman and Aquaman soon. I honestly like the idea of keeping most of the same people who worked on some of the other DC movies to be involved with all of the other films that way when they all come together everyone will be on the right page of what comes next

Speaking of Wonder Woman, has anyone seen the Smallville episodes with Zatanna? I'm wondering how the girl who plays her, Serinda Swan's, acting ability is...because looking at this chick, I immediately think Wonder Woman.

I agree with CBF in that a Justice League movie is a LONG way off, if it ever does get made. Personally I'd like to see them finally get a Wonder Woman movie off the ground before they try The Flash or even another Superman film. Her time is due. The key for that, though, is not to cast a white chick.

Jon Favreau did a badass job on Iron Man and Iron Man 2 (supposedly), hence he was offered by MARVEL Studios to take the directing job for The Avengers. He instead opted for Producer.
Same thing here. Chris Nolan did the best directing job for any DC/WB movie, on Begins and TDK. Hence, he was offered Justice League. I think that Jonathan Nolan directing The Man of Steel would equal the best Superman movie, assuming he uses Goyer as his writer and his pitched story (supposedly). After all, it can't be any worse than Singer's version.
Of course, like someone else mentioned here a day or so ago, they need these other movies out before they even start development on a Justice League film:
- one more killer Superman
- Wonder Woman
- Green Lantern (coming out)
- The Flash
These characters need solo origin films before Justice League, and they can't count 'em out, either. These characters are the A-list and top of the B-list for DC. There's no way they can NOT be in a JL film.

evidence that name means everything. He has little to no directing experience (though has worked on big productions as a writer), but because his brother blew the box office away with TDK (still one of the best films of all time), they hand a whole franchise to Jonah (with brother Christopher "godfathering")? big risk. hopefully it pays off!

That's probably the best way I've seen it described lol It could compete for highest grossing film I bet. All those heroes "from the director of the Dark Knight." Not saying it would beat Avatar, but it might be a competitor.

If this is true, I wouldn't be able to take how good the new Superman movies would be. Him and his brother kicked ARSE with the new Batman films - we all know how sh*tty Batman and Robin was. They brought that franchise back to life. And hopefully they can do the same with this one.

I rather not have any of the Nolan's doing a Superman movie cause I really didn't enjoy his approach to the Batman films that much. I'd rather see someone like James Cameron tackle Superman at least his films can put butts in the seats (Avatar,Titanic). I hope Brandon Routh will still be Superman!
