Jon Bernthal has joined the cast of the Steven Spielberg/Tom Hanks produced war miniseries The Pacific. According to Variety, the actor will be appearing on two episodes of the HBO original program.

The miniseries was designed as a companion piece to Hanks and Spielberg's Band of Brothers. It will tell the story of three U.S. Marines fighting in the Pacific.

The series will air sometime in 2009.
