  1. THE JOKER

I thought it was terrible. Venom was the main villain everyone wanted to see. Its the same thing if in the upcoming batman film if everyone is all hyped to see the joker and somehow the main villain becomes like poison ivy and the joker makes a 5 minute appearance. I was very disapointes with this one. I like sandman dont get me wrong, but venom is definitely spider-man's greatest foe. If they do a spider-man 4, which they are talking about doing, venom needs to get the role he deserves.

Stan Lee may create interesting characters but he himself is as welcome in his cameo appearances as a fart in a crowded elevator. As far as the film goes, it had absolutely no scrote whatsoever. James Franco looked (and was) stoned through the whole film, which I actually thought was a good thing. Toby Maguire's 'dancing' was plain terrible and cheapened the whole thing even further. The guy off that 70's show as venom? Please. That was just plain awful. I am banning all upcoming 'superhero' films as a waste of precious time. Bah Humbug!

Loved it!! I really liked the emotional parts of the movie and getting to see some of Spidey's negative traits when they were magnified by the venom. Made him even more normal which is why he's a great superhero, he's believable! I simply adore Tobey in this role and really hope they make a 4th movie.

Spider-man 3 wasnt great by any means. The jazzy "Emo" Spidey could have been edited or shot differently. Killing off venom sucks ass. It just goes to show that spending 300 million on a movie doesnt make it good. Over all I think the first and second films were much better. Love Sam Rami and his work but this movie didnt do it for me.

DEFENATELY NOT GREAT, NOT GOOD, JUST AVERAGE.

ALL WAS GOOD UNTIL THE END. I WAS REALLY HOPING THAT THE FIRST SPIDEY/VENOM BATTLE WAS JUST A WARM UP BUT IT DISAPPOINTED ME. IT SEEMED LIKE THE DIRECTOR LOOK AT HIS WATCH AND SAID "OH SH** WE HAVE TO WRAP IT UP, WE ARE ALMOST OUT OF TIME."

VISUAL EFFECTS WERE NOT THAT GREAT. BUT IT IS ENTERTAINING, IL SEE IT AGAIN, ON DVD.

I thought it was a good movie. I loved the CGI and the special effects, they were really well done for all of the characters (bad/good). Venom looked really cool, but seeing those teeth when he talked was distracting. I wanted to see more of Spider-Man's "New Suit." And I just liked the humor and how serious the movie was. Peter looked really cool when he was, in a way, posessed by Venom. And then last action scene was the best, because it was two against two, and it made it "fun" to watch. Venom needed more screen time, and so did Spidey with his black suit. I gave it an 80 out of 1000!

I thought it was a letdown. There were just too many different stories being told at once. Although I loved the Sandman, he wasn't really needed. I also felt, that some buildup was needed for the confrontation with Venom. As a Spiderman fan, I understand who Venom is, and why he has the abilities that he has. A casual movie watcher would have no clue what was going on. I also think the movie was "corny", most people in my theater just laughed at "Emo" Spiderman, and just couldn't take him seriously.

I feel the plot would have been better if the movie started similarly, but with alot of difference in the middle. At the conclusion of the first fight with Goblin is where it needed to go differently. At the end of the fight, peter should have been knocked over and gotten dirty (the dirt would acctually be the symbiote. Afterwards, you could have the problems with Pete's attitude, just alot more serious than the dance scenes in the movie. Brock would still have the issues with Pete that were in the movie. Than afterwards another goblin fight with Black Spidey, in which Peter nearly kills Harry (this would be the point in which Harry goes to the hospital and looses his memory. This would also be when Peter decides to rid himself of the black suit. At this point, you would have plenty of time to develop the Venom character, and even have him mess with Peter. This would all lead up to the final fight. At the end, you can have Pete and MJ make up, and Peter also go pick up Harry from the hospital, and rekindle thier friendship since this would be when Pete would find out about the memory loss, so everone lives happily ever after. The only other thing I could think of was, possibly at the end of the movie, you would get a hint of the Goblin persona coming back.

I know I went on a rant, but I needed to explain where they went wrong in my opinion. Thanks for reading.

Spider-Man 3 was decent. It had a lot of really well done action sequences, which kind of have to be there with the budget, but the plot was lacking, to say the least.

Raimi just tried to take on too much. There is no reason for five different main characters to appear in one, two hour flick. It is impossible to flesh out the storyline so the viewers actually care about the characters, which is obvious when considering the characters. I could have cared less that Peter and Harry were fighting, or that Sandman needed money for his kid, or that Harry died in the end to protect Peter. Those were supposed to be meaningful aspects of the storyline, but I didn't see them that way because there was just so much going on. Had they dropped Sandman or Venom and focused on the trio (MJ, Peter, Harry), while also incorporating one other villian, I think it would have been a much more interesting movie. I just didn't see the point to having this "sprawling storyline."

In spite of the fact that it didn't meet expectations, it was still an enjoyable flick.

Ambrosia I agree with your comment on Franco being a villian built to perfection and he was by far the best villian/hero in Spidey 3. I also hated the fact he died. But don't agree on too much venom, we saw little of spidey's ultimate antagonist according to the comics. We saw too much Sandman and him flying through the air like a sissy. But Sandman beautifully showed emotion at the end. But him being Ben's killer too wasn't good enough for a storyline but his background on how the crime was committed that led to Ben's death was great. very emotional as well but not emotional enough. I hate the fact of Venom and Sandman teaming up. Venom don't and has never done that in the comics.
Would of also been nice to know he stole the suit i really like that idea and in the process he finds out Parker is Spidey, but they have comic guidelines to follow. But even though Eddie wasn't bitten by a genetic spider remember he got his power from the symbiote suit. He also didn't know that Sandman hated Parker but he knew he hated Spiderman. But i don't understand how he found out about Sandman's motive to rob a bank. That's a missing piece in the jigsaw.
Also the film had to be dark because it was venom, he is a pretty dark character, but why he have to die with little screentime is beyond me. But it was great how the whole forgivingness idea came into play for the end.
Spidey 4 will open up with them getting married i reckon. Confirmed villians for Spidey 4
Carnage, Lizardman, Kraven and Black Cat in which she who will turn good.

This movie was the best movie I've seen in a long time. Just the right amount of action and storyline. James Franco is the perfect villain. His fight with Peter was a cartoon coming to life. Venom - could've done without him. That image was too evil for kids. Loved how Peter went from geek to god. Tobey is such a dork, but it's necessary for him to be believable. I couldn't see James Franco in that role, he's too suave. I have to admit, Kirsten Dunst is a really good actress. Her singing was pretty ... interesting. Personally, I thought there were too many people in the movie. Didn't see enough Franco, and way too much Venom and Sandman. The coincidence of Sandman becoming a villain, and also being Peter's uncle's killer, was not really thick enough for me. Then, Venom just happens to be in the church when Peter is ridding himself of the suit, eh. Would've liked it better if he stole the suit. Also, how did he know Sandman hated Peter and why did he get a Spidey suit? He was never bitten.

Franco is absolute perfection in every possible way. Hated that he died, but it was the only realistic part of the movie. I enjoyed the fantasy aspects, however, the overall theme was very dark. The effects were fantastic, the acting was great, and you certainly feel like you got your $10.00 worth. Except for my few questions, I give it - 2 polished Thumbs Up!!!!

This movie was terrible. Creepshow you want to know what are good comic book movies, well here are a few...Superman Returns, Batman Begins, X Men, and X Men 2. And here are some bad ones...Spider Man 3, Fantastic Four, X Men United, Daredevil, and Ghost Rider (though ive never seen ghost rider, i can just tell its going to be awful). These days movies are getting worse and worse and people are settling for mediocre movies. Had Spider Man 3 come out in the 90's when movies had good long storylines, great character development, and a nice overall flow to it, Spider Man 3 would have been laughed at. But now audiences are inpatient and hate sitting through movies that are two hours or longer. So directors now are just making movies that will entertain the audience with dazzling special effects and comic book action. Most movies now have terrible storylines, no flow to the movie whatsoever, and absolutely no character development. Now Spider Man 3 was long, but it never flowed, the whole movie was choppy, the special effects were like watching a video game, and the acting..my god i was embarressed for Tobey Maguire. Spider Man turned emo and the movie was right up there with X Men United.

Hey Creepshow, A few good comic films: Sin City, V for Vendetta, Spiderman 2, X-Men 2, Hellboy, Batman Begins, Batman, Batman Returns. That's about all. Spiderman 3 could have been awesome, but too much was thrown into it.

Hey Maxfli7084, Sam Raimi could have made this film better. The Spiderman series are not Sam Raimi's precious', his precious was Darkman, because they wouldn't let him direct The Shadow; do your homework.

Like any other "super hero" flick, Spider-Man 3 had its ups and its downs. First off, there were too many villains and not enough resolution or story for them; Venom didn't have much screen time at all and he is one of Spider-Man's biggest rivals. I think they could have split this movie into two, and explained the characters a bit more and added more enticing dialogue. I think the silliness got in the way and did nothing for the story. The action sequences were exciting, I agree. Some of the shots Raimi did were just beautiful and very impressive. In my opinion, Spider-Man 3 has nothing on Spider-Man the first; still my favorite, but I will definitely see it again.

As i said before Spider man 3 was a brilliant movie with spectacular action. But the story drags on to much to show a conflict of good over evil. Which the film is all about forgiveness and if no one can figure that out ur dumb as for it's an expression to the slogan 'The greatest battle lies within.'
The anticipated of this film i reckon made it a success. Also in general it was the crew's idea to bring in Venom because that is what the fan's want. And me being a screenwriter and hopefully wanting to be a director. Making movies you have to see it at the fan's POV es[ecially at directing. I reckon they took to much from the comic and try and crammed it into one movie which lasted just under or over 2hrs and a half. This may actually have resulted from the under developed storyline and plot, we blamed screenwriters for crappy condusing dialogue. I was amazed by the action and SFX, beautiful effects. But the storyline is no where what you wpould expect from Sam Raimi and the Spidey team. Spiderman 1 and 2 were amazing and beautifully plotted. But Spidey 3 failed to meet the xpectations of its previous duo. Venom should have been left to a conclusion for Spidey 4 and come in with Carnage. Which i reckon would have been the ultimate spidey battle Venom vs Spiderman vs Carnage. With Carnage playing spiderman and Venom against each other for Spidey 4.
Brilliant action sequences, but poor storyline and dialogue which is what matters in a movie make Spidey 3 look like it was created by amateurs.
Also a silly but unpredictable ending flopped the 3rd installment. I'm hoping Spidey 4 will be good. Allegedly i heard Sam and Peter Jackson are trading films. Raimi for the Hobbit and Jackson on Spidey 4, very unique.

also i would like to grab people's ideas for a screenwrite i'm wiritng, if you have any ideas for the script i'm writing which is 'A Dream on Elm St.' In basic A Nightmare on Elm St : The Beginning with a major twist.

Upon seeing the film on opening night, I must say that I rather enjoyed Spider-Man 3. I think that each of the Spider-Man films comes with its respective themes and endearing qualities. The critics panned this film because they hated the incomplete complexity of the storyline and its underdeveloped plots/characters. I wasn't all that bothered by some of the inconsistencies. I feel that some areas left in mystery allows the audience to use their imagination and conceive for themselves what they think happened. For example, the abrupt arrival of the symbiote on the meteor rock in the park. You can imagine that this alien being traveled the galaxies looking for the perfect host. Even though the most famous arrival of the symbiote comes from John Jameson taking a space shuttle to the moon and bringing back a moon rock with the symbiote creature within, what happened in the movie should be respected for what it was given all the other stuff that was going on in the film (go watch the sh*tshow Species II if you want to see a similar space shuttle incident that totally rips off the symbiote origin story from Spider-Man). If you look at it this way, and don't go into the theatre with great expectations, I think you'll find it as enjoyable as I did. This is NOT a BAD movie people. It's Spider-Man for God's sake. It's Sam Raimi's precious. Before you start to hate on or talk sh*t about this film, ask yourself, could you make a better one? I mean, could you really? I don't think I could. So ladies and gentleman, please just take what you can from the film and try to appreciate it. Sure it may not have had the solid foundation of the first film or the perfect anti-hero storyline of the second, but it's still a damn good effort and it wraps many things up nicely. This is real life, you can't expect every detail from the comics or cartoons to be exactly translated onto the big screen in a live-action blockbuster. This isn't Sin City. Compared to other superhero movies like Batman & Robin, Daredevil and Fantastic Four, Spider-Man 3 is a masterpiece. It's only when you compare it to the previous two Spider-Man films that people like the critics and some of you out there find faults you can't help but be bothered by. Try and see past that and value it as a landmark in film history, setting a worldwide record and having special effects that are on the forefront of technology. Think about the touching moments in the film, when Harry gets short-term amnesia and holds a conversation with Peter that makes the audience reminisce about their chemistry in the first film. Think about the final scene where Mary Jane hugs Peter. Think about when Harry is dying and what he says to Peter. Think about how well the theme of forgiveness is depicted. Think about these things and maybe you'll come to view Spider-Man 3 in a positive light despite its imperfections. Venom died, but part of the symbiote still lies with Doc Connors, which means he could be revived in the 4th installment or it could give rise to Carnage. We'll just have to wait and see.
