Heads are officially rolling this weekend as Eli Roth's follow-up to his 2006 horror hit comes to theaters, and we all know Mr. Roth definitely knows his stuff when it comes to throwing back to an old school horror style of the 80s (always show boobs in 'R' rated horror flicks!)...but does the second time around have the same impact? Or are you just sick of this style hack/slash horror movie now?
Did Hostel: Part II do it for you? Did you love the gore? Did you love the characters? What about the character three-sixties that took place? Are you gearing up to get a bloodhound tattoo anytime soon? Did the film meet your expectations?
What about all of you people that hated the film? Why? You knew going in exactly what it would be? Are you glad that someone finally chopped up Bijou Phillips? Did you expect Heather Matarazzo to do what she did? I mean, come on, she will always be Weinerdog, right? Did the movie change your ideas about her as an actor?
Do you like hard cider? Do you like naked models? Tell us what you truly think. We want to know, and so does everybody else. Maybe you saw Ocean's Thirteen instead. Heck, you can tell us about that too. Don't be shy.
WHAT DID YOU THINK OF
HOSTEL: PART II?
Hostel: Part II was released June 8th, 2007 and stars Lauren German, Roger Bart, Heather Matarazzo, Bijou Phillips, Richard Burgi, Vera Jordanova, Jay Hernandez, Jordan Ladd. The film is directed by Eli Roth.

I thought the film was good, but I do think they could have done things to make it better like not killing of Paxton straight away in the first 5 mins, he could of had a bigger and better part in the film.
The ending was dissapointing, there could have been more to it and it wasn't really a shock.
It was good the way you saw the killers story line, seeing how they bidded for their kill and how they went through the process, how they were getting second thoughts at times and if they changed their mind they would end up in the hostel themselves being tortured and killed.
It was good how Axelle was a charming, friendly lovely girl and really she was pure evil luring the girls into this horrible place, you just wouldn't know what she was really up to.
I just wander if they'll try and do a Hostel part III with Beth carrying on, who know its might be about Sacha trying to find her for killing his daughter!

not good at all
it did have more blood and gore, but that's it
story line of the newly hired killers was interesting
but that twist towards the end was stupid
and the supposedly "best shocking ending in horror history" was so damn stupid
i thought that the rich girl's dad was going to end up being on of the killers
either killing one of her friends or his own daughter
now that would have been one twisted ending

I think my full review speaks for itself, but I need to throw in another jab. This movie is not scary, and I fear that torture porn is going to temporarily cripple the horror genre. Well...at least it will cripple me until the term "scary" is finally distinguished from just plain sadistic and lame.

hostle 2 was nothing short of garbage. one of the biggest disapointments of the movie was the "shocking ending". i mean come on, i have seen better endings in my sleep. i would not recommend this movie to anyone.

Hostel 2 was a definition of how to make a great sequel as for most sequels don't live to the orginal lol neither do remakes.
Hostel 2 lives up to Hostel, but tries to be more unique than most sequels it tries to be a caontinuance sequel from one, starting off where the first Hostel left us. Brilliant idea.
Part 2 tends to bring in more emotion with sadism and torture and gives us insight on how the executioners present emotion, which is a grand idea to view emotion from the antagonist, which we hardly ever see.
Aprt from less gore and torture because nothing beats the eye burning scene from Hostel 1. But this one is more gruesome psychologically, come on she cut off the guys penis and fed it to the dogs lol, brilliant! What a way to scare guys, Eli!
Eli in one grand sentence
'You've truly mastered how to make a great sequel, my hat goes down to you, Bravo!'
PS
i'm writing my own version to the longly awaited rumoured horror film
'A Nightmare On Elm St : The Beginning'
which i've titled
'A Dream on Elm St'
In the concept i would like to grab peoples ideas of what they'd like to see, i've many grand ideas at the moment but i want fans to be a apart of this script.
Please send ur ideas to
stormingshadowcat@hotmail.co.uk
please be reminded all ideas are welcomed and considered towards the script.
Thanks
Yours Sincerly

Disappointing, but gut wrenching. The first slaughter scene with the sythe and the blood bath was by far the most gruesome part of the movie - although the willy-scissors-cut is a close second. No where near as shocking as the first, and much less gore. I was wanting (perhaps strangely) more blood and guts! I was expecting a lot more than there was. Not bad... but if they're planning Part III, I'd seriously up the ante.

I didn't enjoy the second film as much as the first. This film is simply a "you know what's going to happen" and it does! The first film has intrigue to it and is fun to watch the three main quirky characters, where this one seems contrived of having the straight-arrow girl, the slut and the dork. This film really didn't expand on anything, which is what I was looking for. The only kinda-cool side to this film, is that it gives a glimpse into the mind of the mostly-men who pay big-bucks to travel to the place in order to torture/kill unknown people. You get a sense of why they do it and what is their rationale for it. Major downside for the guys ... less boobs in this one ... I mean LESS!!! Very few gratuitous topless shots, like in the first one. Hey, if I'm going to see some person get their head severed off, the least you could do is show me some titti*s beforehand. Is that asking too much? And not that scary too. A couple of cringing shots, but I was expecting violence and suspense the whole way through. If you liked the first film, you'll probably like this film to some extent, but I found it disappointing and could have taken more of the film time to explore the sadistic characters ... or if not, then at least torture more people throughout the film. Like 1/2 way through, I'm going "Hey, are they going start F'in killing some poeple in this movie, or what????"

I like how Eli Roth got all these Desperate Housewives actors to star in this one. Funny. Does it cheapen the flick knowing that these guys did this flick on their summer break from their hit show?
