I saw the 3D version of OOTP. It wasn't that great. It would still be the same as the original one. And since I've read the entire series up to date, they really have missed out a lot. It'll haunt them in Deathly Hallows when they start filming it. The animations at the end was pretty cool. The best part out of every movie was the part where Fred and George starts doing fireworks. They made it better than the one in the book lol. I have to say that the book was the best one out of all the series. In my predictions, it'll go up to like the most grossing movie in 2007. The next one is going to be better. They must make the part when Dumbledore die really dramatic. I was dissappointed when Sirius only died with an Avada Kevadra, then drifted through the veil. Which was kinda strange. And the entire series shouldn't say that only residents in the UK should audition for roles. Seriously, put in like the realy big ones as a professor or something.

I only read this book once, so when i see the film, i don't judge it based on the book. I found this one to be good, still i find Goblet of fire to be somewhat better some how.

I have to say, reading the book might be a set back to enjoying this movie, the story got a quite a bit of chopping and I'm not sure I agree with the stuff they cut out, the newspaper flashes help link the story but there is some REALLY big holes that may come back to haunt them in the next flick. Having said that, my wife enjoyed the movie, buy she hasn't read any of the books so I guess her POV wasn't spoiled by what was missing. I haveto say I missed John Williams theme in the soundtrack as well,

This is the boring of all the Harry Potter films. The climax isn't that all exciting. With Dumbledore doing most of the fighting........Harry Potter 6???? Better not..

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix... Let me begin by saying if you have not read the books you will LOVE this movie... Visually it is Amazing!!!!! The director was great and the acting is phenomenal. However... they have butchered the story line. Now I understand that there was a lot of "fat" in this 870 page book (fyi: the longest of the series thus far) But I feel that there were some KEY facts that were left out of the movie. They may not be so important now but I feel that they will be come book 7 and if that is the case they have shot themselves in the foot because you need explanations in prev. movies so that the end will not be over-crowded with them... Also The Dementors SUCK A**!!!!! I can't believe that they changed the style of them, the beginning was totally screwed up and rushed, and the music sucks in this one. I understand the need to have the music be darker being that voldemort now poses a true threat, but it's lost it's magical feel. The woman who plays Umbridge did so to perfection! In that I wanted to reach up and strangle her! Which is exactly how I felt reading the book... Overall I am still 50/50 on it, I really liked it visually with only a couple complaints, the direction was fantastic, and the actors really were great, but i feel they have shot themselves in the foot story wise on this one... we'll find out for sure on saturday won't we?

I completley agree with dannsgrl25, The Order of the Phoenix book was so depressing, that it made the book very difficult to read. The movie however was brilliant. Under the direction of David Yates, the movie played more mature, more emotional, and more dark than I could have imagined.

This was the first Harry Potter movie I saw without having read the book. I totally loved it. It's so dark and the acting is great. The new characters Luna and the b***hUmbridge were awesome. The only thing I have to complainis the music. It was quite good, but doesnt stand so well when compared to John Williams or Patrick Doyle's.

Ok. I have to start off by saying that I really wasn't sure I was going to like this movie. I love the series, but this was my least favorite book. I literally got so mad reading the book that I would put it down for days. I despised Prof. Umbridge. I do have to say though that I absolutly loved the movie. In fact I think this has been my favorite one so far. I absolutly agree with everything that Poolshark1989 said. I would have loved to have seen the screaming portrait of Sirius' mother. I was absolutly amazed with the dueling scene. I do see where some people have said that it should have been longer, but I completely dissagree. This is just the first of the duels that we will see, and I thought they did it perfect. They kept you wanting more. As far as Prof. Umbridge in the movie, I still despised her, but Imelda Staunton did wonderful. I recommend that everyone go see this movie. I can't wait for the next one.

i was a little dissapointed with this one. they left a lot of stuff out that i really wanted to see like the rotating room and fiennes the cenatuar. and the end duel was only special effects sounds and it made it weird they should have put some of the score to give it some dramatic tone

Well first off, I have to say that I completely and utterly disagree with InternetBlock! Umbridge didn't take up 90% of the movie, and if you think so... she was supposed to anyway, she was supposed to be the bitch that you hate! There was an overwhelming amount of direction put into the movie that I think it was the best movie thus far... Also the "orb" a.k.a. prophecy is a huge part of the plot of the story. It is in the book as well. I'd have to say that much of the plot remained intact. The only dissappointments that I had was the lack of Quidditch and Fiennes as well as The house of Black... The screaming portrait of Sirius' mother would have kicked up the comedy a bit. However, the dueling scene was utterly and irrevocably astounding! It couldn't have been done better! I do agree with CougarDann Imelda Staunton played the role to a T! This was my favorite movie thus far! It is based on my fav. book so far as well. As far as my least favorite... The prisoner of Azkaban... it was completely ridiculous... the whole plot was ruined... Okay, I'm done ranting now...

    deep breath....ok
I loved this movie! I fell in love with the ridiculous amount of darkness in this movie. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is still my favorite at the moment because I still can't decide if I liked this one more than the other. The best acting from the main stars so far (mostly harry), fantastic sfx, and brilliant direction! There was something totally different with how Daniel Radcliffe acted his part as Harry, he was more serious about his role this time around and I think it had a lot to do with the direction in this film so I defenitely think David Yates did a great job!
I read the book (it's my favorite one so far) and went to the midnight showing already prepared and knowing that there were going to be a lot of chunks from the book missing in the movie, but c'mon! it's a 800+ page book! But, the parts that were literally from the book (ex. DA training, Order of the Phoenix, entire climax scene) were EXACTLY the way I imagined it when I read the book!
Again, the haunting darkness in this film was just brilliant!
I didn't like how Ron and Hermione had like 20 lines in this movie! It felt like they were barely there most of the time!
The climax was PERFECT! Sirius' death was terrible to watch, but done right. I wish they'd explain to the audience what he fell into. And of course the face off between Dumbledore and Voldemort was JAW DROPPING! The wand dueling is so awesome! Some parts reminded me of star wars lightsaber dueling! It's like a traditional dance when the Death Eaters and the Order are fighting! Very Cool!
In the end I give this film 5/5 stars, I really enjoyed myself and can't wait to see how Yates directs the next film!
*and Dementors were badass, as always

It Felt a little rushed and i was lost a couple times but who cares. Killer wizard battle in my opinion. Next is my girlfriend dragging me to the Midnight book release :(

I would like to see this movie when it comes out on DVDS due to my hearing inpaired situation would prevent me from enjoying the movie so I am looking forward to seeing this one with closed captioned and see if it is worthy of my comment at the end of the movie..

I just returned from seeing the latest in the Harry Potter movies, and I thought it was a really good movie.

I was happy that Umbridge did not take up 90% of screen time, like InternetBlock said, before me.

I knew I was gonna Hate this bitch, but Imelda Staunton did a hell of a job playing the role!

I wasn't happy with the Sirius Black 'house'...
I had imagined it in a completely different way.

Tonks was fun and interesting and
the Ministry of Magic was awesome.

The finale of the movie with Dumbledore's Army vs. The Death Eaters was edge-of-my-seat amazing and so too was the battle between Dumbledore himself and
"Tom"-the evil Lord Voldemort. It just blew me away!

Still, I must admit that Goblet of Fire is my favorite, but this one Was pretty good!

I can't wait for the next movie-Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
It has been my favorite book since GoF.

I look forward to seeing the onscreen adaptation of that, although I don't look forward to the death of...

All in all, a great movie, and any Harry Potter fan should see it.
Not that any Harry Potter fan Wouldn't.

I give it 4 stars out of 5.

  19. InternetBlock

I enjoyed this film perhaps not as much as the 4th one Goblet of Fire due to the lack of adventure and visiting new and exciting places with goals and the lively buzz at Hogwarts that the 4 before offered didn't exist in this film sure Harry teaches kids but its just not same.
With the death of someone I didn't want dying and the horrible annoying pink lady taking up 90% of the screen time and sucking the magical fun of the school right the heck out the film it left me feeling bummed and feeling it wasn't not the best HP but once I got over my sadness and my nightmares LOL I realized that it was still a good film but the battle was short and didn't feel like to me carried the film and there was an overall lack of direction in this film, Im sorry but an Orb cant be the base for a movie when it isn't even used and there want any dialog between the girl he kissed and him it was like they just kissed there want a side story to that all and why the heck did the others fly on things that only harry and the other girl can see, they should have went back to the fireplace because the pink lady was gone and tele-ported DUH I could go on but I wont, I give this 2 1/2 outta 5.

I absolutely loved it. Obviously the hardcore fanboys are upset 'cause of the omitted quidditch match, but the book's 870 pages long and the film had such dark, ominous tone to it that it would've seemed out of place. Anyway, the story was great. Everyone gave outstanding performances, and the last thirty to twenty minutes were just phenomenal. Very great movie, and I'm looking forward to "The Half-Blood Prince".
