John Stockwell will direct Susan Sarandon and daughter Eva Amurri in Middle of Nowhere, a bittersweet romantic comedy about a clashing mother and daughter, according to Variety. Michelle Morgan wrote the script.

Amurri (Saved and Education of Charlie Banks) plays Grace, a young woman whose irresponsible mother (Sarandon) blows her college fund on her younger sister's beauty pageant campaign.

The film will begin production in September.
