John Leguizamo and Donnie Wahlberg to Star in Spike TV's The Kill Point
John Leguizamo is "Mr. Wolf," the leader of a small group of military veterans who set out to rob a major bank in Pittsburgh. When things go awry, they're forced to take more than a dozen hostages from all walks of life, including a wealthy and powerful businessman's daughter. Suddenly, "Mr. Wolf" finds himself battling the police, the hostages and members of his own team while at the same time, fighting his own personal demons from the Iraq war and from his own war at home. Will he be sharp enough to hold it all together or lose control of the situation? And will he find redemption before it's too late -- and does he even care to?
On the opposite side of the perimeter is "Horst Cali," the Pittsburgh Police Department Hostage Negotiator, played by Donnie Wahlberg, who must go toe-to-toe with "Mr. Wolf." "Cali" must use his wit and negotiating skills, while managing his own personal issues, to manipulate the situation and convince Wolf to free the hostages before the FBI takes control, or worse.
With time of the essence and the uncertainty of the unfolding events, both men need to remain resourceful and collected or risk losing lives. The Kill Point reveals how the hostage takers leverage their situation and how the negotiator tries to unravel their plans. Which man will blink? Who will outsmart the other? Who will survive? It's a dangerous game of chess played out with human lives at stake.
Peter Appel (NYPD Blue), Dana Ashbrook (Deadwood), Geoffrey Cantor (Law & Order), Steve Cirbus (Law & Order), Jeremy Davidson (Cold Case), Christine Evangelista (Law & Order), Jennifer Ferrin (Rescue Me), Leo Fitzpatrick (The Wire), Frank Grillo (Prison Break), Michael Hogan (Law & Order: Criminal Intent), Michael Hyatt (The Wire), Wayne Kasserman (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), Mike McGlone (The Brothers McMullen), Susie Misner (Rescue Me), JD Williams (The Wire) and Michael K. Williams (The Wire) and special guest star Tobin Bell (SAW) round out the cast of The Kill Point.
spiketv.com has created original short form broadband episodes to coincide with The Kill Point. The broadband episodes were developed and shot exclusively for spiketv.com. The webisodes will feature The Kill Point character Deke, a military vet involved in the bank heist who escapes and immobilizes forces on the outside in order to mount a campaign to save his brothers-in-arms trapped in the bank. In between the on-air episodes, spiketv.com will premiere a web original and offer the viewer a glimpse into the back story of The Kill Point taking the online viewer into Deke's world to see how he commandeers his crew, weapons and gear. The broadband episodes will also delve deeper into Deke's character to illustrate how he plans his escape and the effects the Iraq War had on him with some graphic flashbacks.
Additionally, High Definition episodes of The Kill Point will be available exclusively for downloaded via Xbox LIVE Marketplace, home to more than 1,500 hours of premium entertainment content. Xbox will also offer the standard definition episodes as will iTunes. The Kill Point downloads will be available after its on air debut on both xBox, iTunes and Amazon.

While I'm at it...what's with the Grammar Nazi schtick? Can't we just give the cop a lillipop or a bit of string to tangle (cats watch TV you know)?? If I were the Comish and my lead negotiator sent my tech guy on a wild goose chase, then stopped to correct a restaurant's sign with spray paint, I would have fired him on the spot. Absolutely absurd.
Additionally, all the sexual references seem overboard. Just when did 'gay' become necessary for descriptions- "He's an old gay man". "Thanks ma'am, we'd hate to confuse him for that old straight man when we trade hostages". Don't even get me started on the "I don't know you well enough to pee in front of you, but I will have sex with you in a closet scenario.
From what I see, this is just one long commerical for a video game. A really looong commercial.
I have to reply to my esteemed poster, Gin: I may actually watch the next run because this series is like a bad car accident; you know it's horrible, but you just can't tear your eyes away.
So watch out; I'll be the rubber-necker in the left lane!

What rubbish. Terrible plot. Terrible execution. Terrible dialoge. Before the second commercial break I would have had my team out of the bank and the story would have been out us on the run. Before the cops knew who we were I would have released my teammates as "hostages" and gotten them away. OR after my teammates got the plans for the building, we would have left via an alternate route. Afterall, the SWAT guys came in once THEY figured it out.
AND what's up with Blaximus?? Is he a sniper or what?? It's the Fezinni thing- when the man in black stick his head out, hit it with the rock/shoot it! (even though it's not very sportsmanlike) He's more Crapulous the Sniper than anything else.
PLUS the whole "he was charged with murder" backfill is absurd. IF I disobeyed my superiors and did not take my team into combat because it was a suicide mission and another team got killed going in my place, that's when the I TOLD YOU SO's would come flying. How can Sarge be convicted of murder when HIS team didn't die?? That's the lamest plot line since the Dungeons and Dragons series in the mid-80's.
Save yourself some time and rent something better; I suggest any Joanie Loves Chachi episode, or maybe The In-Laws!

Wonderful!! Congratulations to Spike TV. The acting was so indepth, I was torn on who I wanted to win, the good guys or the bad guys. John Leguizamo was great and beleivable in his role. PukusMaxim won't be watching again but I can hardly wait until next week. Sorry it is only an eight week run. Ginrume
